Beware of the tour that is causing a stir on social networks in Co To Island

On June 24, information from the People's Committee of Co To District ( Quang Ninh ) said that this locality has just requested the authorities to strengthen inspection of illegal tours to the islands in the area, and at the same time warn tourists about "underground" services that pose potential safety risks.

According to the People's Committee of Co To District, recently there have been many spontaneous tourism and tour businesses operating without regulations, posing potential risks to safety and affecting the district's tourism business environment.

In particular, on social networks such as Zalo, TikTok, Facebook... there are many images and video clips advertising the sale of night squid fishing tours and tours to islands (3, 4, 5 islands...) spontaneously and without a license. This poses many potential risks of traffic insecurity, drowning, and disorder due to unhealthy competition on prices and competition for customers...

Notably, recently, many social media accounts have spread images of tourists visiting Carp Island (Thanh Lan Commune) with extremely "hot" images, attracting millions of interested people.

Co To District authorities request to strengthen inspection and supervision of illegal tours to the islands.

This island is located near the Co To Con island area, about 15 km from the center of Co To district. This place possesses a wild and majestic beauty, making anyone who comes here for the first time surprised and want to fully enjoy the atmosphere of this place.

Speaking to Thanh Nien , a leader of Co To district said that the images shared on social networks all took place from 2023, when the locality piloted bringing tourists to this area.

However, this year, Carp Island has temporarily stopped receiving visitors because there is no recognized traffic route and tourist destination, so it cannot be implemented. Currently, the People's Committee of Co To District is assigning Thanh Lan Commune to rebuild the project to open a tour to Carp Island to put into regular operation, serving tourists.

In addition, the People's Committee of Co To District also directed the police and border forces to strengthen patrols, control and strictly handle vessels, boats, canoes, and jet skis providing services to transport tourists to experience night squid fishing and visit the islands (3, 4, 5 islands...).

In particular, the authorities of Co To district requested the People's Committees of communes and towns in the area to take action, ban the above tours in all forms, establish a team to control vehicles that illegally pick up and drop off passengers; coordinate with functional forces to strictly handle the situation; conduct a general inspection of vehicles carrying tourists to protect the rights of tourists.
