There are couples who seem to be made for each other because they have so many things in common. Luong Hang Hai (24 years old) and Le Tran Nhat Hai (24 years old), both from Ninh Binh, are such a couple.

The couple are in the same class, now they live together.

They have surprisingly many things in common: same name, same age, same hometown, same school, same class, same desk. And now, they have returned to the same house after 6 years of dating and more than 10 years of knowing each other.

Hang Hai and Nhat Hai have known each other since second grade, when they took an extra English class together. Even though they went to different schools, every summer break, they had the chance to meet each other in that extra class.

Entering high school, the two attended the same school, the same class, and even sat at the same desk. To differentiate between the two friends with the same name, classmates nicknamed Hang Hai “Pirate”, while Nhat Hai’s nickname was “Pirate Sea”.

They hated each other so much that whenever they met, they would tease each other.

In 12th grade, Hang Hai fainted at school due to overstudying. Nhat Hai carried her to the emergency room. Nhat Hai's enthusiasm moved Hang Hai and that was the first time she dared to face her true feelings.

“Actually, we liked each other but didn’t dare to say it. On my birthday, he boldly confessed his love. ‘I want to protect you’, just that one sentence has made me follow him until now,” Hang Hai shared with a smile.

The couple stuck together throughout their school years.

Falling in love in their senior year, the couple's love was opposed by their families. However, both used their academic results to prove that love was the motivation for them to try together, not the reason for them to neglect their studies.

Hang Hai and Nhat Hai later passed the university entrance exam, one majoring in music , one majoring in information technology. Although their student love was lacking at times, it was still filled with happiness.

“We have a lot in common, so wherever we go, we introduce ourselves with a series of words: 'We have the same name, same age, same hometown, same class, same desk...'. Everyone is very surprised when they hear it.

I feel lucky to have such a love. He loves me, loves me so much that he can change everything for me. We are not rich, but as long as we are together, whether it is home-cooked meals or street food, we are happy,” Hai confided.

The wedding party was surprised because the bride and groom had the same name.

On October 13, 2024, the couple officially got married after 6 years of dating. For Hang Hai, this was like a dream come true.

“We have been together since our school days until we are adults and have stable jobs. Through many difficulties and ups and downs, we still walk together. Like a dream, the boy who was beside me when I was 17 is now my husband,” she confided.

With the same name and age, the couple encountered many funny situations during the wedding planning process. From printing wedding invitations, wedding backdrops to names in wedding photos, both had to be very careful to avoid confusion.

On the wedding day, apart from relatives and close friends, most of the guests were surprised by the bride and groom having the same name. Hang Hai had the opportunity to "rewind" the familiar saying: "My husband and I have the same name, same age, same school, same class, same desk... and now we are living together".

They are both husband and wife and soul mates.

In daily life, Hang Hai and his wife address each other as “you – me”, and sometimes call each other “brother – sister”. Both families must call each other by both their middle and first names to avoid confusion.

For Hang Hai, coincidences are the spice that makes their love story more interesting. However, the core thing that makes them ready to enter into marriage is sincere feelings and tolerance, understanding for each other.

“He is not a perfect and ideal husband, but he is a kind man, loving and caring for his family. In particular, he always puts me in the priority position and accepts to change for me.

That makes me feel appreciated,” Hang Hai confided.
