Son La Province's Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection worked with an Ethiopian delegation on the European Union Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (coffee industry)

On the morning of September 16, 2025, at the Hall of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, representatives of leaders and experts of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection organized a working session with the Ethiopian delegation of 12 members, SAFE/GIZ project officers, and interpreters.

At the meeting, the two sides exchanged, provided, exchanged, shared, and discussed the situation of coffee production, consumption, processing, and export in Son La province and Ethiopia ; the implementation of European Union regulations on products exported to the EU market without causing deforestation and deforestation in the coffee industry . Afterwards , the representative of the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection thanked the delegation of Ethiopian experts for visiting and working at the Department of Agriculture and Environment and sharing experiences on good production practices, building a transparent traceability system for Ethiopia 's production industry , and also proposed that the German Development Cooperation Organization (GIZ) will soon deploy activities of the project " Sustainable Agriculture for Forest Ecosystems - Vietnam Component" (SAFE) " in the province to support the coffee industry to develop in a sustainable direction to meet the regulations of the European Union for coffee production and export of Son La province.
