People handed over land use right certificates to Branch of Land Fund Development Center No. 1 and Son My Commune People's Committee to carry out site clearance for Son My 1 Industrial Park project ( Lam Dong ).

Accordingly, it is expected that on September 30 and October 1, the units will pay compensation and support to 44 households who have transferred land to the Son My 1 Industrial Park project. The total amount of payment in this period is nearly 64 billion VND with a recovered land area of more than 33 hectares. This is an important step to remove obstacles at Son My 1 Industrial Park to deploy infrastructure construction and attract investment, develop industry and services in the coastal area of the province.

According to the Lam Dong Industrial Parks Management Board, Son My 1 Industrial Park was approved by the Prime Minister in 2017, with a total registered capital of VND2,300 billion and an area of 1,070 hectares. Phase 1 is expected to be implemented on an area of over 615 hectares and phase 2 on nearly 455 hectares. Particularly in the priority investment and construction area of 375 hectares, 87 hectares have been completed so far. The remaining problem area is over 288 hectares related to 78 households and 7 organizations. To date, the units have approved compensation plans for 65 households with 45 hectares with a cost of over VND81 billion.

Regarding the construction of resettlement areas, the Son My Resettlement Area Technical Infrastructure Project (Phase 1) was approved on an area of 1.44 hectares, with the plan to arrange 76 resettlement lots for affected households in the Son My 1 Industrial Park project. To speed up the progress of infrastructure construction and operation, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has directed the Branch of Land Fund Development Center No. 1 to coordinate with the People's Committee of Son My commune, investors, relevant departments and branches to speed up the progress of compensation and site clearance for the Son My 1 Industrial Park project, especially the priority area (375 hectares) that must be cleared first.

The Provincial People's Committee requires that by November 30, 2025, the units must complete compensation, site clearance and compensation payments for 75 households in the project. As for the remaining 3 households, continue to review the legality and complete the compensation and clearance plan according to regulations.

Son My 1 Industrial Park plays an important role in the industrial development of the coastal area of Lam Dong province. A good sign is that while still under construction, Son My 1 Industrial Park has attracted 3 large-scale investment projects. Specifically, 3 projects with a scale of 156 hectares, registered investment capital of 5.4 billion USD include: Son My LNG port warehouse with a total investment capital of 31,434 billion VND (equivalent to 1.3 billion USD); Son My I BOT Thermal Power Plant with a total investment capital of 47,464 billion VND (equivalent to 1.98 billion USD); Son My II Thermal Power Plant with a total investment capital of 50,433 billion VND (equivalent to 2.1 billion USD).
