Phu Quoc special economic zone authorities pledge to accompany and help businesses

On August 3, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone organized a coffee meeting for businessmen. Vietnamese economic experts and more than 20 enterprises investing and doing business in the fields of land, tourism and commercial services in the locality attended.

There needs to be realistic policies to help businesses develop.

The business coffee meeting in Phu Quoc took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Many local businesses shared the advantages and difficulties encountered in business investment such as administrative procedures, land, tax, security and order support, tourism stimulation, Phu Quoc brand building and private economic development.

Ms. Vu Thi Cuc - owner of Chau Long enterprise in Suoi Da Ban, Phu Quoc special economic zone - said that her enterprise also had some difficulties with paperwork, land, etc. The local authorities have helped to resolve them.

Ms. Cuc hopes that the locality will come up with practical policies so that businesses can join hands in developing the socio-economy and tourism on the island.

"At today's coffee meeting, businesses can easily exchange thoughts and feelings and better understand the viewpoints and policies of the Party and State to develop together. Through this, the role of local businesses and entrepreneurs is also affirmed," Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh - Vice President of the Vietnam Real Estate Association - informed.

Preserving culture to make Phu Quoc a unique tourist center

Attending a coffee session with the government and businesses of Phu Quoc special economic zone, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thien - former director of the Vietnam Economic Institute - recognized that the spirit and momentum of entrepreneurs and businesses in Phu Quoc are now much different than before.

"When APEC 2027 in Phu Quoc is successfully organized, I believe that this island will be upgraded, attract investment and become a great tourist destination. Phu Quoc needs to have a project to preserve local indigenous culture to become a unique tourist center serving international visitors," Associate Professor Dr. Thien emphasized.

Mr. Le Quoc Anh - Secretary of the Phu Quoc Special Zone Party Committee - thanked the experts and businesses today for coming to give advice and share advantages and difficulties in investment and business to contribute to the local government's socio-economic development.
