Bank stocks sold off heavily, VN-Index continued to fall by nearly 7 points

On October 3, the Vietnamese stock market was dominated by red, despite increased liquidity compared to the previous session. Investors rushed to sell to take profits, causing a series of stocks to plummet, especially banking and securities stocks. At the end of the session, the VN-Index fell 6.89 points to 1,645.82 points.

Market liquidity increased compared to yesterday's session, with total trading volume on the three floors reaching more than 1,012 million shares, equivalent to a total trading value of more than VND27,113 billion.

Foreign investors continued to net sell on all three exchanges with more than VND1,379 billion, focusing on codes MWG (VND261.51 billion), STB (VND187.57 billion), CTG (VND125.9 billion),SHB (VND96.66 billion), VRE (VND91.85 billion)...

In the opposite direction, the codes that were net bought a lot in this session included VIC (243.58 billion VND), HPG (38.03 billion VND), ANV (36.52 billion VND), TCB (32.9 billion VND), GMD (26.57 billion VND)...

On the HoSE floor, the order matching value this session increased compared to the previous session, reaching more than VND 23,130 billion.

In this session, the codes that contributed positively to the VN-Index increasing by more than 8.55 points included: VIC, VHM, LPB, VRE,FPT , ANV, VJC, VHC, STG, BCM.

On the contrary, the stocks that negatively impacted VN-Index by more than 6.89 points included: VPB, CTG, TCB, HPG, STB, GVR, MSN, HDB, BID, MBB.

In terms of industry groups, this session, software stocks performed positively, increasing by 1.28%, mainly from FPT, ELC, HPT... Some stocks decreased including CMG, CMT...

The group of securities stocks this session leaned towards red, with a decrease of 1.22%, mainly from codes SSI, VIX, VND, VCI, SHS, HCM, MBS, FUEVFVND, BSI... On the contrary, a few codes increased including FTS, DSE, E1VFVN30, DSC, FUEKIV30, TVB...

Banking stocks traded mainly in red and closed down 0.88%, mainly from codes BID, CTG, TCB, VPB, MBB,ACB , STB, HDB... Some codes increased including LPB, VIB, NAB, SGB...

Real estate stocks this session leaned towards green and increased by 1.22%, mainly from codes VIC, VHM, VRE, BCM, KSF, VPI, TAL, VCR... On the contrary, the codes that decreased included KDH, KBC, NVL, PDR, DXG, SJS, NLG, TCH...

Energy stocks this session were mostly red, down 1.84%, mainly from codes BSR, PLX, PVS, PVD, OIL, PVT, VIP... Increasing direction included codes MVB, CCI, PJT, PEQ, PTX, PVY...

Insurance stocks traded mainly in red and closed down 0.99%, mainly from codes BVH, MIG, BIC, BMI, ABI... Increasing direction included PVI, VNR, PRE...

Retail stocks performed negatively, down 0.54%, mainly from codes MWG, PNJ, FRT, FRT, HUT, DGW, HHS, CTF, TLP... On the contrary, increasing codes included PET, VVS, STH, AMP, KDM, VCM, DAS...

* The Vietnamese stock market index was in red today, VNXALL-Index closed down 814.24 points (-0.50%), down to 2,835.18 points. Liquidity with a trading volume of more than 906.99 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 25,824 billion. In the whole market, there were 98 stocks increasing in price, 90 stocks remaining unchanged and 265 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 265.75 points, down 3.8 points (-1.41%). Liquidity reached a total of more than 99.87 million shares transferred, with a corresponding trading value of more than VND2,128.22 billion. In the whole market, there were 46 stocks increasing in price, 62 stocks remaining unchanged and 107 stocks decreasing in price.

The HNX30 index closed down 13.06 points (-2.24%) to 569.01 points. Trading volume reached over 71.28 million units, equivalent to over VND1,823.83 billion. In the whole market, there were 3 stocks increasing in price, 2 stocks remaining unchanged and 25 stocks decreasing in price.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM-Index closed at 109.02 points, down 0.77 points (-0.70%). Market liquidity, total trading volume reached over 52 million shares, corresponding trading value reached over 426.45 billion VND. In the whole market, there were 105 stocks increasing in price, 125 stocks remaining unchanged and 166 stocks decreasing in price.

* At the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed down 6.89 points (-0.42%) to 1,645.82 points. Liquidity reached over 860.61 million units, equivalent to a trading value of VND24,559.16 billion. The entire floor had 85 stocks increasing, 59 stocks remaining unchanged and 229 stocks decreasing.

The VN30 Index decreased by 0.29 points (-0.02%) and stopped at 1,859.51 points. Liquidity reached more than 344.77 million units, equivalent to a trading value of more than VND 12,894.24 billion. The VN30 group of stocks ended the trading day with 10 stocks increasing, 1 stock remaining unchanged and 19 stocks decreasing.

The 5 stocks with the highest trading volume are VRE (over 11.84 million units), ANV (over 8.22 million units), FPT (over 7.68 million units), VIB (over 6.74 million units), DPM (over 4.97 million units).

The 5 stocks with the highest price increase are ANV (+6.93%), C47 (+6.86%), STG (+6.76%), HSL (+6.7%), KHP (+6.35%).

The 5 stocks with the biggest price decrease are DSC (-17%), BCG (-6.98%), SGR (-6.91%), VMD (-6.76%), TCD (-6.67%).
