Bac Ninh Chairman sends open letter to business community

The letter stated that, in the context of general economic difficulties, despite facing many challenges, investors in the province have responded promptly, dynamically, and creatively, contributing to bringing Bac Ninh province's economy into a new growth cycle in 2024: Attracting foreign investment capital (FDI) in the first 8 months of the year reached over 3.2 billion USD, ranking first in the country; Total product value (GRDP) in the second quarter of 2024 increased by 8.06%; In the first 7 months of the year, the index of industrial production (IIP) increased by 10.4% over the same period in 2023.

Bac Ninh province highly appreciates the spirit of overcoming difficulties and the confidence of investors in the province's business environment, and has taken advantage of new opportunities following the economic development trends of the world and Vietnam.

With efforts and expectations, growth in 2024 will gradually regain strong momentum, striving to complete the annual GRDP growth target of 5.5-6.2%.

The Provincial People's Committee and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hope that the domestic and foreign business community, cooperatives and business households will continue to make greater efforts, be creative, innovate, take advantage of all new investment opportunities, and make breakthroughs to produce and do business more and more effectively.

"We are committed to continuing to promote reforms, improve the investment and business environment, transparency, receive, listen and handle difficulties and problems through all information channels to accompany investors; support and create the most favorable conditions for accessing planning information, land, infrastructure, human resource training, opportunities to participate in business opportunities, priority investment projects to build Bac Ninh into a centrally-run city, protect investors' interests according to the law", the letter of the Chairman of Bac Ninh province said.

As Lao Dong reported, in 2023, Bac Ninh province's GRDP decreased by 9.28% compared to the same period. This is the deepest GRDP decrease ever and Bac Ninh is also the province with the deepest decrease among 63 provinces and cities in 2023.

In the first 6 months of 2024, Bac Ninh's economy recovered, growing by 2.32%.
