National Assembly Chairwoman meets with full-time female National Assembly Delegate in the Central region

Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the initiative of the Delegation Working Committee and the group of female parliamentarians who coordinated to organize many activities for women.

The National Assembly Chairman said that when talking about women, the world as well as Vietnam always uses the most beautiful words. President Ho Chi Minh also affirmed, "The beautiful landscape of Vietnam is woven and embroidered by our women, young and old, to make it more beautiful and brilliant." From ancient times to the present, women have always played an important role in contributing to the development of society and building happy families; in any circumstances, anywhere, Vietnamese women always uphold the virtues of "Heroic - Indomitable - Loyal - Responsible" as the 8 golden words given by Uncle Ho. Along with the development of modern life, those good qualities continue to be developed and upgraded to become standard criteria in the new era: Confidence - Self-respect - Loyal - Responsible.

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized that during the National Assembly terms and since the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term up to now, the National Assembly has always been exploring and innovating to achieve comprehensive results. In those results, there is a role of female National Assembly deputies and women in the National Assembly agencies. In particular, the 15th National Assembly term has the highest proportion of female National Assembly deputies in the last 10 terms, accounting for 30.26%, a number highly appreciated by parliaments of many countries. Among them, there are 3 female members of the Party Central Committee, members of the National Assembly Standing Committee, 32 comrades who are Vice Chairmen/Vice Chairmen, Standing Members, full-time members of the Ethnic Council , Committees, leaders of the National Assembly Office, and leaders of agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee.

The National Assembly Deputies have actively studied documents, have in-depth knowledge, enthusiastic, sharp and quality opinions at the meetings, contributing much to the National Assembly, the National Assembly's agencies, and the agencies under the National Assembly Standing Committee; making good use of advantages to better implement gender equality policies. The Group of Women National Assembly Deputies has organized many practical activities, becoming a good and suitable forum for female deputies to exchange experiences on deputy skills as well as learn from the experiences of international groups of female parliamentarians at multilateral and bilateral forums.

On behalf of the National Assembly, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the efforts and outstanding achievements of full-time female National Assembly deputies at the Central level and female leaders and department-level managers of the National Assembly Office and the Institute for Legislative Studies; affirming that the National Assembly always thoroughly grasps the Party's policy on women's work: "Requesting to thoroughly grasp Resolution No. 11 of the Politburo on women's work in the period of promoting industrialization and modernization of the country, Directive No. 21 of the Secretariat on continuing to promote women's work in the new situation; well implementing tasks and solutions on realizing gender equality goals, contributing to achieving sustainable development goals by 2030, effectively implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the period 2021-2030. Although the issue of gender equality has been implemented very well so far, we still have to continue to thoroughly grasp it somewhere. We request that all levels, units and comrades always thoroughly grasp it from awareness, thinking to action, in behavior when assigning tasks".

The National Assembly Chairman said that in the near future, the National Assembly Party Delegation will direct the preparation of a project, structure, and continue to increase the proportion of women, especially full-time female National Assembly deputies. Up to this point, the National Assembly has done a very good job of planning female National Assembly deputies and cadres at all levels with a high proportion; and continue to improve the quality and effectiveness of female National Assembly deputies.

The National Assembly Chairman also requested to continue to coordinate with trade union organizations to increase the organization of more experiential activities, tours, research, surveys, etc. In addition, the Party Delegation of the National Assembly also needs to pay attention to the work of female cadres, take care of the material and spiritual life of women, including salary policies; and have a plan to improve the quality and effectiveness of the Group of Women Parliamentarians.

The National Assembly Chairwoman expressed her belief that female National Assembly deputies will continue to promote the results they have achieved, make further contributions to the activities of the National Assembly, and together make many great achievements to further highlight the glorious tradition and towards the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese National Assembly.
