National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man: Khanh Hoa has advantages to break through in marine economy

On the morning of September 22, at the Khanh Hoa Provincial Children's Cultural Palace (Western Nha Trang Ward), the 1st Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, opened. Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended and directly directed the congress.

Speaking at the opening of the congress, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Secretary Nghiem Xuan Thanh said that the congress had 396 delegates attending, representing nearly 74,000 party members. Mr. Thanh emphasized that in recent times, the Provincial Party Committee has closely followed the leadership of the Central Committee, directly the Politburo and the Secretariat; at the same time, focused on directing the successful organization of grassroots congresses, commune and ward congresses and congresses at higher levels.

The Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee emphasized that with the spirit of "Solidarity, democracy, discipline, responsibility, breakthrough, development", the 1st Provincial Party Congress demonstrated a strong aspiration to rise, high political determination and great efforts to achieve the goals: raising the position, comprehensive development; building Khanh Hoa into a centrally-run city, a high growth pole of the whole country.

At the same time, the province focuses on building a clean and strong Party organization and political system; ensuring national defense, security, social order and safety; improving material and spiritual life so that people can have an increasingly good, peaceful and happy life.

6 key tasks

Speaking at the congress, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, on behalf of the Politburo and Secretariat, acknowledged the outstanding achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of Khanh Hoa over the past five years.

According to the National Assembly Chairman, the province's socio-economic development has made a breakthrough with an average growth rate of 8.3%/year; the GRDP scale in 2025 is estimated to exceed 209,000 billion VND. Budget revenue increased by an average of 10.3%/year; average income per capita reached about 110 million VND; the poverty rate decreased to 1.74%. Many key projects were implemented, such as: North-South Expressway, Cam Ranh International Airport, Van Phong Economic Zone... After nearly 3 months of implementing the 2-level government model, all 64 communes and wards have been operating smoothly.

The National Assembly Chairman set a target that by 2030, Khanh Hoa will achieve an average GRDP growth rate of 11-12%/year; GRDP per capita and budget revenue will be among the top 10 localities in the country; and there will be basically no poor households.

To implement this, the National Assembly Chairman assigned 6 key tasks: building a clean and strong Party and political system; effectively operating the 2-level government model; synchronously implementing 7 Resolutions of the Politburo; developing the marine economy with a coastline of nearly 500 km; combining economic development with strengthening national defense and security; promoting the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations.

"With a coastline of nearly 500 km and four bays of special value such as Van Phong, Cam Ranh, Nha Trang and Vinh Hy, a vast open sea area, hundreds of large and small islands, including the Truong Sa archipelago and the Truong Sa special economic zone, these are advantages for the province to strongly develop its marine economy. Khanh Hoa needs to identify the development of key sectors such as energy industry, processing, manufacturing, logistics, high-tech industry; continue to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector, of international stature and class," the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.

The 1st Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, will not elect a new Party Committee and Delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party. The Politburo will appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Inspection Committee, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee Inspection Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term and appoint delegates to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.
