Clip: What would Western Pizza look like combined with Vietnamese cuisine?

The pizza making competition within the framework of "Art and Taste Festival 2023" (Taste of Saigon) brought the experience of combining Vietnamese and Italian cuisine through two extremely new pizza dishes.

The winner of the pizza making contest (APC 2023) Huynh Tran Que Phuong was inspired by the traditional banh khot, one of the familiar and popular street foods in Saigon with ingredients such as coconut milk, green beans, seaweed shrimp, wild vegetables, mozzarella cheese, fish sauce... to create the "Khot" Pizza.

Third prize winner and "Most Favorite Contestant" - Tran Van Hoai used ingredients including smoked sausage, dried wild boar meat, mac mat leaves and rosemary for the "Northwest" pizza, but still kept the basic properties of an Italian-style pizza with enough cheese, salty meat and vegetables.

With the unexpected success of "Art and Taste Festival 2023" despite unfavorable weather, the Organizing Committee immediately planned for "Taste of Saigon by artLIVE 2024".

"With the orientation of bringing art, from culinary architecture, painting, crafts... closer to the public - "Taste of Saigon by artLIVE" is an annual event at Thong Nhat Hall, Ho Chi Minh City. In the first year, "Taste of Saigon by artLIVE" inspired young people and tourists. Therefore, despite being greatly affected by the rainy weather, it still attracted more than 23,000 visitors.

This number has not reached the program's initial target of over 30,000 visitors, but the biggest thing we have done is to bring brands and art and food lovers closer together," said Ms. Trang Duong, CEO of artLIVE Events, the organizer of Taste of Saigon.

Right after the Taste of Saigon by artLIVE event and the announcement of Taste of Saigon by artLIVE 2024, this morning, October 29, the artLIVE team brought 50 poor children who are Cho Ro and Chau Ma ethnic groups in Thac Thuong, Dinh Quan district, Dong Nai gifts of colored pencils, pencil boxes, cakes, candies, sausages... and basic necessities for the family such as rice, cooking oil, soy sauce, fish sauce...

The event "Taste of Saigon by artLIVE" will continue to be held in 2024, scheduled from October 25 to 27, 2023 at Thong Nhat Hall and promises to have many creative and innovative content.
