Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao (37 years old, in Xuan Phong Bac village, An Hoa commune, An Lao district, Binh Dinh province) always has a special love for her hometown products.
After graduating from university, Ms. Do Thi Thu Thao decided to return and begin a challenging entrepreneurial journey. With faith in the potential and natural advantages of the locality, she boldly invested and built her own brand with local products such as: natural wild honey, wild sim wine, turmeric starch, herbal tea, dum tea, wild lemongrass... Most of these products can support health and enhance resistance. Ms. Thao's entrepreneurial path was not full of roses. Difficulties piled up when she had to arrange time to take care of her family, at the same time had to find ways to turn around capital, then promote, build a brand and find and expand the market. Recalling the early days, Ms. Thao shared that because of her limited knowledge of business, she had to face fierce competition in the market and the biggest difficulty was the limited capital, struggling to find an outlet for the product. She confided: "My family's conditions are a bit tight, so when doing any job I have to be frugal, calculate and consider a lot to balance the capital, and then when making the product I face the biggest difficulty which is finding an outlet."

But with perseverance and determination, she has turned difficulties into motivation to bring her hometown products closer to the community. In particular, achieving the 3-star OCOP certificate certified by the People's Committee of An Lao District for her products proves her seriousness and dedication to her startup dream. In addition, other products of Ms. Thao are being displayed at many tourist attractions and homestays. Ms. Thao is also always ready to learn and innovate when participating in many fairs, exhibitions, and festivals in and outside the province to promote her hometown products. Besides, she actively participates in social and volunteer activities, sharing with difficult circumstances, and giving gifts to children in the highlands. Mr. Dinh Van Ngin, Secretary of An Lao District Youth Union, commented: "Ms. Thao is a young face full of potential and enthusiasm of the district, always striving to learn new things, exchanging and sharing knowledge with young people. She always knows how to overcome all barriers to conquer the dream of bringing hometown products everywhere." Thanks to the above efforts, Ms. Thao was recently awarded a certificate of gratitude by the Binh Dinh Provincial Women's Union "For positive contributions in activities to enhance women's economic power, contributing to building Vietnamese women of the new era". Ms. Thao confided: "Starting a business is a long journey full of challenges, requiring perseverance and determination. When you discover something you really love, take action. Turn your passion into reality. Always learn and equip yourself with the necessary knowledge and skills before embarking on realizing your dream."
