On the evening of October 18, the award ceremony of the 2025 City-level Startup and Innovation Competition was held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
From startup ideas to human values
The winner of the competition was the project "Porcelain Light" by a group of students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture and Van Lang University. The prize is worth 100 million VND.
The project "Porcelain Light" of the NEXTEDGE team won first prize and the most favorite team prize.
In addition to the potential startup idea, the student group also conquered the judges with an interesting innovative idea. Team leader My Hien shared that the products that the group introduced were not just simple business products.
Specifically, the smart technology-integrated art lamp product that the research team has developed can play a dual role: both helping to preserve Vietnam's traditional handmade ceramic art and contributing to solving the problem of "bleeding" kaolin resources in localities, limiting the use of environmentally unfriendly materials such as glass/composite plastic.
Mr. Jonathan Baker, Head of UNESCO, assessed that this competition is not only about entrepreneurship but also about building an ecosystem of ideas, where innovation is guided by cultural identity, legal responsibility and creative aspiration. This is also a place where students not only compete, but also learn to collaborate, dare to challenge themselves and turn ideas into practical actions.
The judges applauded to test the automatic on-off ability of the light.
Dr. Le Truong Son, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said that after nearly 6 months of launching and organizing, the 10 best teams selected from more than 100 registered projects from colleges and universities in Ho Chi Minh City entered the final round.
Through the competition, students have the opportunity to test, exchange and realize ideas in the fields of law, education , culture and architecture, contributing to the formation of a sustainable, interdisciplinary startup ecosystem.
Establish a startup network
Within the program, the button-pressing ceremony to establish the ACL-InnoHub Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network took place - a platform for synergy, unleashing the creative and entrepreneurial potential of the young generation.
The establishment of the ACL-InnoHub Network affirms the commitment to building a sustainable innovation ecosystem, associated with cultural industry and social responsibility.
The three co-founders of the network, including Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture and Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the activities of the "ACL-InnoHub Startup and Innovation Network".
At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the two schools. Thereby, establishing a comprehensive and sustainable cooperative relationship, aiming to maximize resources, improve efficiency in training, scientific research, academic exchange, communication and community service activities.
