Lam Dong Police ready to compete at the "For National Security" Sports Congress

These days, in Hanoi, the Lam Dong Provincial Police Team is actively practicing, urgently perfecting techniques and tactics, demonstrating a high spirit of determination, ready to compete at the 9th "For National Security" Sports Congress and the 6th People's Public Security (CAND) Regulation, Military and Martial Arts Competition.

Participating in the final round of this year's Congress and Competition, Lam Dong Provincial Police selected 148 outstanding officers and soldiers with outstanding achievements in the movement of physical training, techniques, and sports from the Police of units and localities to form a Team to participate in the competition.

After more than a month of training, despite facing many difficulties in weather conditions and a tight training schedule, the members of the Team always maintained the spirit of "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, practicing enthusiastically", strictly following orders, regulations and training curriculum with the goal of excellently completing assigned tasks.

This year's "For National Security" Health Congress and the Public Security Regulations, Military and Martial Arts Competition are organized to widely propagate and educate officers, soldiers and people about the glorious tradition of 80 years of building, fighting and growing of the Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), and at the same time celebrate the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025). This is an opportunity to demonstrate the force, promote the emulation movement "For National Security", encourage officers and soldiers to actively study, practice political mettle, sense of responsibility, contributing to building a clean, strong, disciplined, elite and modern Public Security Force.

This is also an opportunity to summarize the physical training and sports movement in the People's Public Security Forces, period 2020 - 2025; evaluate the results and quality of training in regulations, military training, martial arts, thereby raising awareness of compliance with regulations, training health, enhancing physical strength and combat readiness of officers and soldiers.

Major General Le Hong Hiep, Deputy Director of the Department of Political Work, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee for the Congress and Competition, gave a speech at the meeting of the Head of Delegation to draw lots and schedule the competition for the Sports Congress and Competition.

According to the plan of the Ministry of Public Security, the Congress and Competition will be held over a period of one year (from August 2024 to August 2025) in provinces and cities such as: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hue, Lam Dong and Phu Tho.

Phase 1 (2024) organized competitions in the following subjects: Application Running, Healthy Police Soldiers, 7-a-side Men's Football qualifying round, Volleyball, Tennis, Applied Swimming within the framework of the Health Congress; along with Regulations, Martial Arts, Military within the framework of the Competition in 4 regions. This phase attracted the participation of 97 delegations with 4,073 officers and soldiers at the Health Congress and 83 delegations with more than 7,000 officers and soldiers participating in the Competition.

Phase 2 (2025) continues with the following competitions: Firefighting and rescue sports, organizing preliminary rounds at localities, qualifying rounds in 8 regions and the final round in Hanoi from May 28-30, 2025. Table tennis, badminton, chess and the 7-a-side men's football final round will take place from July 24 to August 1, 2025 in Hanoi. It is expected that there will be 97 delegations, with nearly 2,000 delegation leaders, coaches and athletes participating.

As for the Competition, the final round gathered 26 excellent teams selected from 83 qualifying teams, with a total of 2,200 officers and soldiers. Each team consisted of 85 athletes, including 1 Department-level leader or equivalent, participating in 2 shooting events; 1 Department-level leader or equivalent in charge of commanding the formation, military, martial arts and 1 shooting event.

The Opening Ceremony of the Sports Congress and Competition will take place at 8:10 p.m. on July 26, 2025 at the Athletics Palace, Hanoi. The Closing Ceremony is scheduled to be held at 3:30 p.m. on August 1, 2025 at Hall No. 2 of the Ministry of Public Security (No. 47 Pham Van Dong, Phu Dien Ward, Hanoi).
