The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requested the People's Committees of wards and communes to direct educational establishments in the area; Heads of units and affiliated schools to monitor the developments of storm No. 11, seriously and effectively implement the directions and instructions of the Central Government, the City and local authorities in disaster prevention, control and search and rescue.
“In the face of natural disasters and floods, heads of educational institutions need to regularly monitor the situation, promptly adjust flexible teaching plans, and choose appropriate forms,” the Department of Education and Training directed schools.

The Department also requires schools to proactively review and prepare plans based on weather and natural disaster situations and deploy disaster response plans according to the "4 on-site" motto suitable to actual conditions.
Check the tree system in the school campus. If you find any perennial trees that are at risk of breaking or falling, you must report it for timely handling. If you cannot do this immediately, you must warn of the danger and contact a professional agency for handling as soon as possible.
Have a plan and promptly move assets, machinery, equipment, tables, chairs, records, books to a safe place to ensure no damage, breakage, loss, and minimize damage caused by storms.
Absolutely do not organize extracurricular activities, collective activities, especially in places with risk of flooding and landslides. Establish an information channel with parents to manage students when participating in local activities, minimizing risks that may occur due to storms.
Previously, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son also sent a telegram to the Directors of the Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities from Hue onwards regarding overcoming the consequences of Storm No. 10 and proactively responding to Storm No. 11.
The dispatch stated: Storm No. 10 has caused heavy rain, flooding, and flash floods in many provinces from Hue onwards, causing great damage to school facilities, especially in Ha Tinh, Nghe An, and Thanh Hoa; many localities had to let students stay home from school to ensure safety.
The telegram cited information from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, Storm No. 11 entered the East Sea on the night of October 3. The strongest wind near the storm's center is level 8 (62-74km/h), gusting to level 10. Moving in the West-Northwest direction, at a speed of 15-20km/h, it is likely to affect mainland Vietnam in the coming days.
Therefore, the Minister of Education and Training requested the Departments of Education and Training to direct schools to have plans to respond to storms and floods, ensuring the safety of students, staff, teachers and school facilities.
