Workers still work despite warnings of gas leak

Regarding the gas explosion in Khai Quang ward (Vinh Yen, Vinh Phuc ) this afternoon (July 16), Vinh Yen City Police said that the explosion occurred at around 8:20 a.m. the same day, at the base of CH2.1, The City Light apartment building, on Nguyen Tat Thanh street, Thanh Gia residential group, Khai Quang ward, Vinh Yen city.

This house was rented by Mr. HDS (born 1990), Korean nationality, from TPG Group Joint Stock Company to open a business store.

Glass was scattered all over the sidewalk from the explosion.

The initial preliminary cause was determined to be a gas leak.

Accordingly, the explosion occurred when a group of workers were installing equipment inside the house. Before that, at about 8:15 am, when the repairmen came to the above building to fix the Korean hot pot restaurant, the restaurant's glass doors were still closed. At that time, Mr. Nguyen Huu X (an Oze dental staff in the house next to the house being repaired) detected the smell of gas coming from inside the house and warned the repairmen, but the repairmen did not listen.

The explosion injured 8 people, including Mr. Duong Quoc B (born in 1991, residing in Quat Luu, Binh Xuyen, Vinh Phuc), Mr. Duong Quoc H (born in 1987, residing in Quat Luu, Binh Xuyen, Vinh Phuc), Mr. Phan Quoc T (born in 1996, residing in Yen Lac Town, Yen Lac, Vinh Phuc), Mr. Duong Xuan T (born in 1996, residing in Quat Luu, Binh Xuyen, Vinh Phuc), Mr. HDS (born in 1990, Korean nationality, temporarily residing in Hanoi ), Mr. LJS (born in 1993, Korean nationality, temporarily residing in Hanoi) who are being treated at the National Burn Hospital, Mr. Nguyen Van V (born in 1971, residing in Minh Tan Town, Yen Lac, Vinh Phuc) and Mr. Nguyen Tuan L (born in 1990, residing in Van Truc, Lap Thach, Vinh Phuc), who was sitting in the car in front of the house and is being treated at Vinh Phuc Provincial General Hospital.

Currently, authorities are calculating property damage and coordinating with relevant agencies to investigate the cause.
