The latest announcement date for graduation results is July 21. However, based on the announced exam scores and transcript scores, candidates can calculate their own high school graduation scores.
This morning, July 17, the Ministry of Education and Training officially announced the scores of the 2024 High School Graduation Exam.
After the scores are announced, the Departments of Education and Training will organize graduation exams for candidates. Graduating from high school is a prerequisite for candidates to be eligible for admission to universities.
The deadline for graduation recognition is July 19th at the latest. The deadline for graduation results announcement is July 21st at the latest. The graduation results of candidates who have their exam papers reviewed will be announced no later than August 9th.
However, based on the announced exam scores and transcript scores, candidates can calculate their own high school graduation scores.
According to the high school graduation exam regulations set by the Ministry of Education and Training, candidates who take all subjects, no subject with a score of 1 or lower, and a total score of 5 or higher will be eligible for graduation recognition.
The calculation of graduation scores is done as follows:
For high school students, the graduation score is calculated according to the formula:
Average score = {(Total score of 4 high school graduation exams + total incentive points)/4 x 7 + average score of the whole year of grade 12 x 3}/10 + priority points.
For students studying the regular high school education program, graduation scores are calculated according to the formula:
Average score = {(Total score of 3 high school graduation exams/3 + total incentive score/4) x 7 + average score of the whole year of grade 12 x 3}/10 + priority points.
The total score of the four exams includes Math, Literature, Foreign Language and the average score of the combined exam. Priority points include priority points for policy subjects and regional priority. Encouragement points include bonus points for candidates who won prizes in competitions for excellent students in cultural subjects, sports or vocational certificates.
This year, Block C has a bumper crop of valedictorians with 19 students. Interestingly, all 19 valedictorians of Block C all scored 10 points in History and Geography and 9.75 points in Literature, and 13 of them are from Bac Ninh.
Specifically, the recommended bonus points are as follows:
For candidates who win individual prizes in the exam to select excellent students in cultural subjects for grade 12: Winning first, second, or third prize in the national exam or first prize at the provincial level will receive 2 points; winning an encouragement prize in the national exam or second prize at the provincial level will receive 1.5 points; winning a third prize at the provincial level will receive 1 point.
Candidates who win prizes in practical experiments in Physics, Chemistry, Biology; art competitions; physical education and sports; national defense education competitions; science and technology competitions; and international letter writing competitions organized by the education sector in coordination with specialized sectors from provincial level and above at high school level will have separate bonus points for individual and team prizes.
For individual awards: Winning first, second, third national prizes or first provincial prizes or gold medals is awarded 2 points; winning national consolation prizes or fourth prizes in national science and technology competitions or second provincial prizes or silver medals is awarded 1.5 points; winning third provincial prizes or bronze medals is awarded 1 point.
For team competitions: Points are only added for national competitions; the number of players, athletes, and actors in the team competition is according to the specific regulations of the Organizing Committee of each competition; the incentive points added for individuals in the team competition are implemented as for the individual competition specified in this point.
Students who win multiple prizes in multiple competitions are only entitled to one bonus point of the highest prize.
Students of the continuing education system who simultaneously participate in the intermediate program combined with the cultural program and have a vocational certificate or intermediate diploma will receive bonus points based on the classification sent in the vocational certificate or intermediate diploma as follows: Excellent for vocational certificate, excellent and good for intermediate diploma will receive 2 points; Fair for vocational certificate, Fair and average for intermediate diploma will receive 1.5 points; Average will receive 1 point.
Continuing education students with foreign language or computer certificates issued according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training during high school will receive 1 point for each type of certificate.
The incentive points are retained throughout the entire level of study and added to the exam score to consider graduation recognition for the candidate. If the candidate has multiple certificates to receive incentive points, the maximum bonus point will be 4 points./.
