Mr. Luong Viet Tinh - Director of the Quang Nam Market Management Department said that through inspection, the functional sector has dealt with prominent groups of violating goods and common groups of violations in the area.
Regarding the prevention of transporting and trading in prohibited goods and illegally imported goods, 97 cases were handled, and nearly 592 million VND in fines were collected. Regarding the prevention of the production and trading of counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights, 23 cases were handled, and more than 241 million VND in fines were collected.
Regarding inspection of food products, 116 cases were handled, collecting nearly 300 million VND in fines. Regarding inspection results of liquefied petroleum gas products, 16 cases were handled, collecting more than 44 million VND in fines. In addition, the Quang Nam Market Management Department has handled many violations in trading of tobacco, alcohol, pesticides, etc.
Mr. Luong Viet Tinh said that there are many difficulties in fighting, detecting and handling illegal trading of goods in the province. Information technology develops rapidly, business, trade, exchange of goods and services via Zalo, Facebook, e-commerce websites... are difficult to control, prevent and handle violations.
There is not much information about online sellers, it is very difficult to find out and identify. These accounts sell goods without a fixed store, sell as collaborators, small-scale, do not gather goods so it is difficult to determine the location and goods.
Transport and express delivery companies are operating more and more, potentially engaging in illegal business and taking advantage of transporting counterfeit goods, goods that infringe intellectual property rights, smuggled goods, and goods of unknown origin.
The Quang Nam Market Management Department is urgently implementing a plan to inspect and control the market before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025 to stabilize the market, ensure healthy business and protect consumers.
