Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marriage, thought to be a 'fairy tale', turned out to be a 'nightmare'

"The fairy tale she was promised ended up being a nightmare," a source told People on January 7. Although Jennifer Lopez is in a "really good place" right now, she "just wants to close this crazy chapter," the insider added.

Another source told reporters that they "will not be getting back together."

After Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, a source told Page Six that the 56-year-old singer believed she "finally had her chance at a fairy tale."

"She really didn't stop to consider who the real man in that fairy tale was," the source said, adding that "the big love that Jennifer believes in isn't in Ben's DNA."

Jennifer Lopez (55 years old) and Ben Affleck (52 years old) officially completed divorce proceedings on January 6, but everything will not be completed until February 20, 2025.

According to TMZ , the two will part with what they have acquired during their time together.

The Oscar-winning actor retained his stake in his and Matt Damon's production company, Artists Equity, which he co-founded with his longtime friend four months after he and Jennifer Lopez tied the knot.

The $60 million Beverly Hills mansion where the couple previously lived together is still for sale. It is not yet known how they agreed to divide the property.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six , Lopez will keep the $5 million engagement ring Affleck proposed to in April 2022.

The couple have no children together. However, they have a family of up to 5 children.

Ben Affleck has three children: Violet (18 years old), Seraphina (15 years old) and Samuel (12 years old) with Jennier Garner. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez has two twins: Max and Emme (16 years old) with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
