The BDMNTN-XL badminton team tournament was first held in 2024, also in Indonesia, and was well received by fans. From there, it continued to take place in season two in 2025 from October 2 to 5. The BDMNTN-XL 2025 badminton team tournament has 4 participating teams: Blitzers, Hurricanes, Lightning, Rockets. Nguyen Thuy Linh competes for the Lightning team with the participation of male tennis player who won 2 Olympic gold medals, Viktor Axelsen (Denmark) and former world No. 1 men's doubles player Fajar Alfian, Nur Izzudin (Indonesia), Yuta Watanabe (Japan, 2 Olympic bronze medalists), Shevon Lai (Malaysia), Tse Ying Suet (Hong Kong), Rutaparna Panda (India).

The tournament takes place in a format of 2 singles matches, 2 3 vs 3 matches, each match lasts 8 minutes. This race against time format will make the matches more attractive, dramatic and fast-paced. This format also forces teams to have appropriate tactics at each moment to maintain the advantage or create a breakthrough to change the situation if they are behind. Therefore, the role of the captain is considered very important for the teams.

The BDMNTN-XL 2025 badminton team tournament has a total prize value of up to 750,000 USD (about 19 billion VND), of which the champion team receives 350,000 USD (about 9 billion VND), thereby attracting many strong players to participate. The tournament is expected to become a sports and entertainment event, creating a special attraction for fans. 10 days ago, Nguyen Thuy Linh suffered a leg injury and had to withdraw midway through the first round of the women's singles of the China Masters badminton tournament. She recovered in time to return to participate in the BDMNTN-XL 2025 in Jakarta before participating in other international tournaments to accumulate points on the Badminton World Federation's rankings.
