Da Nang has a new flight route Ahmedabad (India) - Da Nang

DNO - On the morning of October 24, flight number VJ1972 operated by Vietjet Air carried 120 passengers, departing from Ahmedabad (India) and landed at Da Nang International Airport.

The city's Department of Tourism coordinated with Vietjet Air to organize a program to welcome passengers on the first flight to Da Nang.

This is a new route connecting Da Nang with Ahmedabad (India), operated by Vietjet Air with a frequency of 2 round trips per week using Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats/flight. Accordingly, flights from Da Nang to Ahmedabad will depart every Wednesday and Saturday. In the opposite direction, flights will depart from Ahmedabad to Da Nang every Thursday and Sunday.

International guests on the first flight from Ahmedabad to Da Nang were welcomed at the airport and received gifts from the tourism industry, had check-in photos taken, and enjoyed an art program.

On the first flight, Nimit Midha was very happy to be welcomed at the airport, to have his picture taken and given on the spot. Passenger Nimit Midha said that he had heard a lot about Da Nang tourism and this trip will have 4 days to visit and experience famous tourist attractions as well as explore the culture and cuisine of Da Nang.

Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong said that India is a potential market for Da Nang tourism. The opening of the Da Nang - Ahmedabad (India) flight route is of great significance in promoting the growth of Indian tourists to Da Nang.

Da Nang tourism industry has been focusing resources to proactively promote the city's tourism image, promote the opening of flights from Da Nang to several cities in India; diversify products and services to form a tourism ecosystem to meet the needs and tastes of Indian tourists; improve service quality and service quality; ensure security for all destinations in Da Nang.

Within the framework of the program, the city's tourism industry welcomed a Famtrip delegation representing 20 travel companies and a Presstrip delegation including 19 reporters and journalists from India to survey and write in-depth articles promoting Da Nang tourism in Indian newspapers.

The groups will have 4 days to experience Da Nang's typical tourism products, including visiting Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area, Son Tra Peninsula, Linh Ung Pagoda, the special national monument Ngu Hanh Son (Da Nang) and Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam).

According to the city's Department of Tourism, in the first 9 months of 2024, the number of visitors from the Indian market to Da Nang reached about 139,086, an increase of 4.2% over the same period in 2023 under the condition that there are no direct flights from major cities of India to Da Nang. In 2024, Da Nang city also attracted 4 large weddings of Indian couples with more than 1,200 guests and 20 MICE tourist groups from India with about 3,000 guests.

Ahmedabad is known to be the largest city in Gujarat state and the 7th largest metropolitan area in India, with a population of about 5.1 million people. Vietjet Air's direct flight connection between Da Nang and Ahmedabad will facilitate and promote trade as well as exchange of tourists between the two localities.
