Da Nang: Controlling factory fire in residential area

On the afternoon of August 27, a fire broke out at a mechanical workshop located in alley 110, Me Suot Street (Hoa Khanh Ward, Da Nang City), destroying many properties.

According to residents, at around 5:10 p.m., a fire suddenly broke out inside the factory, creating a column of smoke dozens of meters high that covered the residential area, accompanied by many loud explosions.

Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Da Nang City Police quickly dispatched 6 fire trucks, tankers and dozens of officers and soldiers from 3 units to the scene. However, because the factory was located deep in a small alley and was built with corrugated iron, access and fire extinguishing were difficult.

The authorities had to split into several teams and lay nearly 500 meters of pipelines to bring water inside. Local people actively supported the fire fighting force in transporting people and equipment to the scene. Some soldiers had to use oxygen tanks to approach the fire.

The fire did not cause any human casualties.

By around 7pm the same day, the fire was basically under control. The fire did not cause any human casualties. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
