Da Nang: 7-seat car collides with tractor trailer at dawn, injuring 7 people

In the early morning of October 12, an accident between a tractor trailer and a 7-seat car occurred on Vo Chi Cong Street, Da Nang, injuring 7 people, including a 1-year-old child with severe brain injury.

At about 00:30 on October 12, at km 53+300 of Road 129 (Vo Chi Cong Road, in Diem Dien Village, Tam Xuan Commune, Da Nang ), a traffic accident occurred between a tractor trailer with license plate 77C-070.85 pulling a trailer with license plate 77R-005.28 driven by Duong Van Ho (1972, residing in An Nhon Bac Ward, Gia Lai Province) traveling from Da Nang City to Quang Ngai Province.

When arriving at the above location, it collided with a 7-seat car with license plate 92H-0935 driven by Dinh Dong Duong (1988, residing in Di Lang town, Son Ha district, Quang Ngai province) traveling in the opposite direction.

As a result, 7 people in the 7-seat car suffered multiple injuries and were promptly taken to Quang Nam General Hospital for emergency treatment; 2 cars were damaged.

Doctor Nguyen Tam Thang, Deputy Director of Quang Nam General Hospital in Da Nang city, said that the victims were treated by the hospital's doctors and nurses and are out of danger.

According to Dr. Nguyen Tam Thang, when receiving the victims at 1:00 a.m. the same day, the Emergency Department of Quang Nam General Hospital activated the "red alert" to promptly provide emergency treatment to the victims.

Among the 7 victims (including the driver), there was a 1-year-old patient with severe brain trauma who had surgery and a very poor prognosis.

In addition, 2 cases of severe trauma have undergone surgery and are now stable; the remaining cases with multiple injuries have also undergone surgery and are stable. Currently, the victims are receiving intensive care at Quang Nam General Hospital.

Regarding the incident, the Da Nang City Police Department coordinated with the People's Procuracy of Region 5 to examine the scene; at the same time, requested Quang Nam General Hospital to test drugs and alcohol levels for the two drivers, Duong Van Ho and Dinh Dong Duong.

Drug and alcohol test results are not available at this time.

According to authorities, through initial verification, the cause of the accident was determined to be Dinh Dong Duong driving a 7-seat car into the opposite lane, causing the accident.

The traffic accident is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities./.
