This is the first direct flight from Vladivostok city (Russian Federation) carrying 220 tourists landing at Phu Quoc international airport after about 7 hours of flight - the first Russian tourists in the charter tour package including airfare, accommodation, sightseeing and local services directly operated by Anex Vietnam Trade and Tourism Company Limited (Anex Vietnam).
The Phu Quoc Special Zone authorities organized a solemn and thoughtful welcome for the Russian international tourist group, creating sympathy and impression, affirming the image of the Pearl Island as a safe, hospitable and attractive destination in the eyes of international tourists.
After this flight, Phu Quoc Special Zone will continue to welcome charter flights departing from 14 cities in Russia and countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) operated by Azur Air and Vietjet Air, with a frequency of 75 - 80 flights/month, transporting more than 10,000 international tourists each month.
Earlier, on the morning of October 12, flight BRU 8197 of Belarusian Airlines carrying more than 280 passengers landed at Phu Quoc International Airport. This is the first direct flight connecting the capital Minsk (Belarus) with Phu Quoc Island (Vietnam). The Minsk - Phu Quoc route will be operated periodically with a frequency of 10 flights per day, with about 300 passengers per flight.
The reopening of direct flights from the Russian Federation as well as a number of other countries to Phu Quoc is an important turning point in the international tourism development strategy of the Pearl Island. This is both an opportunity to welcome a wave of international tourists and an opportunity to promote the image of Phu Quoc to airlines and global travel companies.
