Reporter of Tin Tuc and Dan Toc newspaper had an interview with Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of Vietnam Tourism Association about this topic.
Can you tell us about the action programs of the Vietnam Tourism Association in attracting and welcoming international visitors to Vietnam?
Implementing Resolution 226 and Resolution 229 of the Government , the Vietnam Tourism Association is implementing an action program to attract international visitors, aiming to reach 25 million international visitors in 2025.

To achieve this goal, the Association is focusing on implementing a series of tasks, the most important of which is inviting international travel businesses from key markets of Vietnam to visit and survey new destinations, learn about new tourism services, thereby bringing tourists to Vietnam.
In fact, only travel businesses can accelerate growth by directly bringing tourists to Vietnam. In recent times, the Association has organized a number of typical promotion programs: Last September, MICE Expo 2025 welcomed 50 international business representatives to conduct surveys; in early October, 120 international businesses participated in a survey in Da Nang ; and recently, 50 tourism business representatives surveyed the Ninh Binh - Thanh Hoa route according to the B2B model.
Such famtrip programs are expected to create a strong push in attracting international visitors. Notably, the survey team led by the President of the Philippine Independent Travel Association has opened up great prospects from this market. Currently, the number of Filipino visitors to Vietnam has increased by 92%, reaching 337,000, becoming one of the new prominent markets. This is a strong growth rate in the past two years and can absolutely continue to break through when there are direct flights between the two countries.
Through discussions, Philippine tourism businesses said that Vietnam not only has Sa Pa but also possesses many world cultural heritages, rich natural resources and an international standard service system. They were especially impressed when exploring new destinations such as Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa, which have the potential to attract high-quality tourists from this market.
In the coming time, which markets will the Association focus on welcoming delegations to survey and attract international visitors from, sir?
In the coming time, we will continue to organize to welcome survey delegations from Malaysia, Korea, Philippines, Australia, USA and Western European countries to learn about the Vietnamese market.

Previously, we often passively waited for customers to come. However, with the specific action plan of the Government, the Association determined that we need to be more proactive, stronger, faster and more decisive to achieve the highest possible growth rate.
With the support of localities and the cooperation of businesses, I believe that the results will be very positive. The growth in international visitors this year will be the premise for Vietnam tourism to continue to make a breakthrough next year.
How do you evaluate the role of survey and B2B activities in tourism development?
Famtrip programs are special activities, highly professional in the tourism sector. Tourism products cannot be held but must be felt through real experiences, so survey trips for businesses, press and media are necessary and should be organized regularly.

Through these activities, Vietnamese tourism businesses and destinations gradually form the habit of proactively approaching the market. When international businesses clearly understand our products and destinations, they will confidently bring tourists to Vietnam.
Currently, some localities doing tourism are still not familiar with this form of promotion and still have the mentality of waiting for customers. Therefore, the Association will continue to coordinate with local businesses to organize more survey teams, gradually forming a sustainable cooperation network, helping to bring more international visitors to Vietnam.
Thank you very much!
