Trust from the people of the outpost island
These days, on all roads from the central area to the villages and hamlets in Phu Quy Special Zone, national flags, slogans, and banners welcoming the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress are hung solemnly and brightly.
The atmosphere of welcoming the Congress spread everywhere, creating a new and prosperous appearance. Emulation movements to achieve achievements in welcoming the Congress took place enthusiastically. Cadres and party members promoted their sense of responsibility; people actively participated in maintaining environmental hygiene, beautifying village roads and alleys, creating a green - clean - beautiful landscape.

Each Phu Quy resident is contributing a small part to welcome an important political event of the province.
As a locality with a special strategic position, Phu Quy is both an "outpost" protecting the South Central Coast region and a solid rear base for the Truong Sa archipelago.
We fishermen are always aware that we are not only doing business , but also protecting the sea.
Mr. Pham Quang, Fisherman of Phu Quy Special Zone
Having been attached to the sea for many years, Mr. Pham Quang, a fisherman in Trieu Duong village, shared: “In reality, we still face many difficulties such as lack of storm shelters, lack of fishing logistics services, unstable prices, etc. The Party Congress is an important occasion for the people to express their trust and aspirations. Therefore, I, like many fishermen in the Special Zone, hope that the Congress will come up with practical solutions to support fishermen to go offshore for long periods of time, both developing the economy and contributing to protecting sovereignty.”

Meanwhile, Ms. Bui Thi Hong Diep, Head of Trieu Duong village, expressed: "We hope that this Congress will continue to set out more comprehensive development orientations for Phu Quy, helping people improve their lives, preserve cultural identity, and link economic development with protecting the sea and islands."
The achievements during the past term are proof of the Party's correct leadership.

Need to plan comprehensive development strategy
During the 2020-2025 term, Phu Quy Special Economic Zone has achieved many important results, creating a solid foundation for new developments. The marine economy continues to play a key role with stable exploitation output, reaching 30,000-35,000 tons per year.
The district currently has more than 1,700 fishing boats, 100% of which are equipped with voyage monitoring devices and do not violate regulations on illegal fishing (IUU).
The tourism and service sector also recorded rapid growth, with more than 527,000 visitors per year, revenue reaching about 375 billion VND. The expressways connecting Phan Thiet - Phu Quy were invested, contributing to shortening travel time, creating favorable conditions for trade and tourism development.
Infrastructure serving people's lives and the economy continues to receive attention: completing phase 2 of Phu Quy Port, surface water reservoir, anti-erosion embankment system, schools, medical stations... Electricity, traffic, water supply and waste treatment systems are also gradually being completed.
In particular, the operation of the Domestic Waste Treatment Plant with a capacity of 70 tons/day has made an important contribution to environmental protection and preserving the green, clean and beautiful landscape of the homeland's sea and islands.

Looking forward to the new term, the Party Committee and People of Phu Quy Special Zone aim to build the special zone into a blue marine economic zone, with comprehensive development, closely linking the economy, culture, society with national defense and security. The focus is on developing the marine economy in a green, modern and sustainable direction; exploiting seafood associated with ecosystem conservation; building seafood brands; strengthening the fight against IUU fishing. Coordinate the implementation of marine conservation areas, develop the seafood value chain from exploitation to processing and consumption. Tourism is oriented towards ecological models, sea resorts, and sea sports.
Phu Quy strives to become an attractive destination, combining nature conservation with service development, creating sustainable livelihoods for people.
Regarding infrastructure, the locality continues to mobilize resources from the Central and provincial governments and attract private investment in key projects such as seaports, storm shelters, fishing logistics centers, trade and supermarket systems, green urban projects, smart urban projects, etc.
By 2030, Phu Quy aims to reach the standards of a class V urban area, with harmonious development between a modern urban area and a sustainable ecological environment, worthy of being a strategic special zone in the middle of the East Sea.

Sharing about the locality's expectations, Mr. Le Hong Loi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Quy Special Zone, expressed: Phu Quy is a special administrative unit with a strategic role in protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland, and is also an important base for Truong Sa.
During the past term, thanks to the leadership of the Party, the attention of the province and the solidarity of the people, the special economic zone has achieved many important results. However, the infrastructure is still lacking in synchronization, and the impact of climate change is increasingly evident.
We expect that this Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress will continue to plan a comprehensive, modern and sustainable development strategy for Phu Quy to promote its marine economic potential, develop green urban areas, eco-tourism, and at the same time strengthen national defense and security so that this place continues to be a bright spot in the East Sea.
Mr. Le Hong Loi, Chairman of People's Committee of Phu Quy Special Economic Zone

Looking forward to the 1st Lam Dong Provincial Party Congress, every cadre, party member, fisherman and resident in Phu Quy Special Zone has great expectations for a future of sustainable, modern and far-reaching development.
