Vietnamese football representative has a great chance to enter the semi-finals of the Asian tournament.

In their first participation in the Asian Women's Cup C1, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club performed excellently, winning the first two matches, thereby securing a ticket to the quarter-finals 1 match early. Huynh Nhu and her teammates defeated Taichung Blue Whale (Chinese Taipei) and Odisha (India) with the same score of 3-1.

In the final match against Urawa Red Diamond, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club does not need to be too concerned about the result. Because in the 2024/2025 AFC Women's Asian Cup C1, the determination of the quarter-final matches will be based on the draw.

Specifically, the 3 group winners and the best second-placed team will be in group A. The remaining 4 groups include the 2 second-placed teams and the 2 best third-placed teams.

Ho Chi Minh City FC currently has 6 points, certainly in Group A, whether first or second in the group. In Group A, the second-placed team Abu Dhabi Country has 5 points after three matches. In Group B, the second-placed team Kaya Iloilo currently has 2 points, so even if they win the last match, they are still behind Ho Chi Minh City FC in terms of achievements.

Notably, seeded clubs will play their quarter-final matches at home, a huge advantage for the HCMC Women’s Club in their bid to advance further in the tournament.

According to the current situation in the groups, the potential opponents of Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club in the quarterfinals will be Abu Dhabi Country (UAE), Wuhan Jiangda (China), Kaya–Iloilo (Philippines), Bam Khatoon (Iran) or College of Asian Scholars (Thailand).

Among them, Wuhan Jiangda comes from a more developed women's football background than Vietnam but did not play well in the group stage when they lost 2 matches and are not sure to get a ticket to the quarterfinals. Meanwhile, the remaining clubs are only on par or lower than Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club.

The draw for the quarter-finals of the 2024/2025 AFC Women's Cup will take place in January 2025. The quarter-finals will be played over one leg at the end of March 2025. Before that, tomorrow, October 12, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will have their final group stage match against Urawa Red Diamonds.
