Dai Nghia, Dinh Toan, My Duyen beautifully create the play "Duc Thuong Cong Le Van Duyet"

On March 29, IDECAF Theater released the promotional image of the first Vietnamese historical play invested by this brand to the audience. The story is about the period in 1820, when Le Van Duyet was sent by King Minh Mang to Gia Dinh to be the Governor for the second time.

With his strictness, integrity and talent in winning people's hearts, Left General Le Van Duyet continued the work of pacifying the 6 provinces of Nam Ky. His aspiration was to turn the new land into a prosperous, peaceful place where the people were warm, prosperous and wealthy.

During the last years of his life in Gia Dinh, one of the profound impressions of the Governor General on the people of Gia Dinh was the trial of Huynh Cong Ly, Deputy Governor of Gia Dinh Citadel. Huynh Cong Ly relied on his power to bully the people and take advantage of his personal interests, causing the people to lament. After investigating the matter, the Left General Le Van Duyet, despite his great concern, still decided to use his power to execute first and report later to punish Huynh Cong Ly.

Because of this determination, he caused enmity with the royal court. After his death, King Minh Mang used the rebellion of Le Van Khoi, the adopted son of Left General Le Van Duyet, to convict him and sentenced him to death nine times.

His tomb was leveled and it was not until the reign of King Tu Duc that he was pardoned. But for the people of Gia Dinh, Ta Quan's merits and love for his people like his own children are forever engraved and passed down to this day.

The play exploits the story of General Le Van Duyet's execution of Huynh Cong Ly, thereby depicting the noble image of a historical figure closely associated with the heroic history of Saigon - Gia Dinh.
