IDECAF Drama Theater (HCMC) performed the comedy "Hon ai cho lo" by author Tran Dang Nhan, directed by Nguyen Hung Lam. This is one of the new works that IDECAF has invested in, bringing together famous artists, bringing to the audience bursts of laughter but also full of contemplation about father-son love and the value of understanding in the family.

Dai Nghia - Hong Anh "swapped souls"

Inspired by the classic plot "Truong Ba's Soul, Butcher's Skin", the work explores the strange situation that happens to Mr. Hai To (artist Dai Nghia) and his daughter Lua (artist Hong Anh).

Once, after accidentally drinking the wine that Master Ba Ta Lon (NS Quoc Thinh) brought back from a temple, the father and son unexpectedly switched souls.

From here, a series of humorous situations took place. Because, the author made an assumption when the father in the daughter's body had to struggle with the emotional troubles of youth; and the daughter in the father's body had to deal with the complex social relationships of adults in the working-class neighborhood where he was considered the elder.

With a deeply professional writing style, author Tran Dang Nhan has created many witty plays, raising profound questions about human identity, empathy and the hidden corners of modern family relationships.

Hong Anh - Dinh Toan juggle charming laughter

With the participation of experienced actors, creating charming laughter on stage. The play "Hon ai cho guan" (Everyone's Soul) in addition to Dai Nghia's talent of "leading" laughter, the play has two interesting characters that create laughter, Hong Anh and Dinh Toan. Two people love each other but encounter obstacles, they still try to erase the distance to come home together.

The play also brings together many familiar faces of the IDECAF stage: Quoc Thinh, Tuyen Map, Phi Nga, Cam Ho, Thai Hien, Cong Ton Nghia, Phuong Nguyen, Duc Duy, Minh Sang... The actors demonstrated their ability to juggle well, maintain their acting style, and create natural but not superficial laughter.

Dai Nghia and Hong Anh were particularly impressive when they flexibly "switched roles", vividly portraying the characters' confusion in ironic situations. Meanwhile, Dinh Toan always looked for doubts in the family background of the person he loved, so that the character created charming laughter accompanied by the director's unexpected handling.

The play has a modern feel but still retains the characteristic "comedy" of IDECAF, thanks to the creative hands of the crew, including stage design by artist Le Van Dinh and costume design: Ngoc Tuan, who brought many folk colors to the play.

What excites the audience is that the play has many dance performances invested in by choreographer Huynh Trung, combined with youthful, lively music, bringing many emotions to the play.

Dai Nghia wants to convey a humane message

When we live in the shoes of others, we will understand their feelings better, to sympathize, to share and love each other more. The script "Hồn người đi vào" is therefore not just a comedy but also satirizes many issues from the neighborhood, from each family. The work conveys a profound message: only when we put ourselves in the shoes of others, can we truly understand them.

Through the journey of "soul exchange", Mr. Hai To and his son learn to listen, sympathize and connect with each other more, which is something that seems simple but is sometimes forgotten in modern life that author Tran Dang Nhan wants to convey to the audience.

The next performance of the play "Everyone's Soul" will take place at 7:30 p.m. on October 3 (Friday) at IDECAF Drama Theater - 28 Le Thanh Ton, Saigon Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

"With serious investment, attractive content and a talented cast, "Everyone's Soul" promises to be a bright spot in Ho Chi Minh City's theatrical life during this year's Theater Ancestor's Anniversary season" - Meritorious Artist Ca Le Hong said.
