General Phan Van Giang visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Dak Lak

On July 20, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, and a Central working delegation visited and presented gifts to people with revolutionary contributions in Dak Lak on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947; July 27, 2025).

During the working trip, General Phan Van Giang and the Central delegation and leaders of Dak Lak province offered incense and flowers to the heroic martyrs at the Dak Lak Martyrs Cemetery. The delegation also visited and presented gifts to policy families, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in the area.

Visiting the home of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Toan (born in 1932, residing in Tan Lap ward), General Phan Van Giang deeply expressed his gratitude and the great sacrifice that Mother Toan and her family devoted to the nation's revolution when her husband and two children heroically sacrificed their lives in the resistance war to save the country. The General sent his best wishes to Mother Toan and asked the Dak Lak government to continue to pay attention and do a good job in repaying the gratitude to the family of the Vietnamese Heroic Mother.

Dak Lak Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung said that Dak Lak province has more than 100,000 meritorious people. As of July 1, the whole province has been paying regular subsidies to more than 18,000 people, with a payment amount of over 53 billion VND/month. Regarding the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, Dak Lak has implemented nearly 9,000 houses and will complete it before August 15.

Secretary Nguyen Dinh Trung said that, in parallel with the task of economic development, Dak Lak province always focuses on organizing the full and timely implementation of policies for policy beneficiaries, taking care of the lives of people with revolutionary contributions and social beneficiaries in the area, especially during holidays and Tet.0

General Phan Van Giang shared that, with the nation's tradition of remembering its source when drinking water, every year, the Central Military Commission ( Ministry of National Defense ) regularly organizes activities to show gratitude, visit and give gifts to families of people with revolutionary contributions. Recently, the Ministry of National Defense has mobilized more than 2,500 billion VND, over 380,000 working days to build nearly 18,000 gratitude houses, and eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. At the same time, it has cared for and supported more than 2,800 people with meritorious services, sponsored 702 children of martyrs, and created jobs for 420 children of seriously wounded soldiers.

General Phan Van Giang expressed his emotion when he learned that during the two long resistance wars of the nation, many outstanding sons of Dak Lak had fallen, heroically sacrificing for the independence of the nation.

General Phan Van Giang affirmed that the Ministry of National Defense will continue to closely coordinate with ministries, branches and localities, including Dak Lak province, to effectively implement policies and preferential policies for people with meritorious services, ensuring they are correct, sufficient and timely. At the same time, it will step up propaganda work, educate revolutionary traditions, patriotism and a sense of responsibility for the younger generation.

At the meeting with policy families and people with meritorious services to the revolution in Dak Lak province, General Phan Van Giang represented the working delegation to visit, present gifts, and express deep gratitude and sincere appreciation to war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the armed forces, and people with meritorious services to the revolution in Dak Lak province.

Also during the meeting, General Phan Van Giang said that the Ministry of National Defense will build a primary and secondary boarding school in Dak Lak with a budget of 150 billion VND. Priority will be given to construction in border communes to serve the people's children to study, have a place to stay and stay. The Minister of National Defense requested Dak Lak province to quickly arrange land funds and report to the Ministry of National Defense to soon implement the project.
