National Day September 2 is a brilliant milestone, a day when our entire nation is proud of our heroic history, of the precious independence and freedom won with the blood and great sacrifices of generations of fathers and brothers.

“The capital Hanoi, a place rich in revolutionary tradition, has had countless outstanding sons who fought and sacrificed heroically for independence and freedom. Every inch of land and every street of the capital today bears the mark of history, soaked with sweat, blood and tears of heroes, martyrs, wounded soldiers and those who contributed to the revolution,” the Chairman of the City People’s Committee expressed.

Comrade Tran Sy Thanh emphasized that the government and people of the Capital always deeply and forever remember the immense merits of the heroic martyrs, heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the armed forces, wounded soldiers, and revolutionary soldiers who were imprisoned by the enemy. They are the ones who devoted their youth, blood, bones, and even their whole lives to the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and the construction and protection of the Fatherland.

In that spirit, the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital always identify the work of "Repaying gratitude" and taking care of people with revolutionary contributions as a top priority political task, a regular responsibility and the sacred morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the nation. Over the years, the city has continuously made efforts to implement many practical policies and guidelines to improve the material and spiritual life of people with revolutionary contributions, expressing deep gratitude for their great contributions.
