Speaking to reporters of the Economic and Urban Newspaper, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Tho District, Le Van Thu, said that the People's Committee of the district has directed communes with dykes to develop plans and be proactively ready for any situation when the river water rises.

Authorities evacuated people in Doi O hamlet (Tich Giang commune) to safety.

Localities are also required to deploy 24/7 teams at dike guard posts and at commune People's Committee headquarters, ready to mobilize forces to participate in natural disaster prevention according to the "4 on-site" motto.

On September 11, the district has been evacuating people in riverside and riverbank areas. In Tich Giang commune, 35 people, including the elderly and children of Doi O hamlet, were evacuated to residential areas inside the dike. Tich Giang commune People's Committee continues to monitor and has plans to evacuate people when necessary.

Militia forces actively participate in protecting the Tich River dike.

In Van Ha commune, a locality located completely outside the Red River dike, after checking, the government and local associations mobilized and helped people move 50 pigs and cows; 331 chickens and ducks to a safe place.

Sen Phuong commune has also moved 50 buffaloes and cows of households in the riverbank area due to the rising Red River to higher locations to ensure safety. The People's Committees of these communes have also developed plans to evacuate people and proactively evacuate when necessary.

Sen Phuong commune authorities support people to move their pets to safety.

Currently, Phuc Tho still has some communes such as Xuan Dinh, Van Phuc, Van Nam, Hat Mon, Trach My Loc, Sen Phuong at risk of flooding when the river water rises. The locality has developed a plan and is ready to proactively evacuate when necessary.

Flooding occurred on a large scale, local authorities had to install many warning and instruction signs to ensure traffic safety.
