Investment in Van Phong International Transit Port Road Project Phase 2

The Van Phong International Transit Port Road Project (Phase 2) after completion will connect traffic from Van Phong International Transit Port to National Highway 1A.

On September 16, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chief of Office of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, said that Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council has just approved a Resolution on investment policy for the Van Phong International Transit Port Road Project (phase 2).

Accordingly, the investment objective of the Van Phong International Transit Port Road Project (Phase 2) is to connect traffic throughout from Van Phong International Transit Port to National Highway 1A; gradually complete essential traffic infrastructure works in the area according to the approved planning, attract investment, develop socio-economy; improve people's lives, ensure national defense and security, serve economic development in the northern region of Van Phong Economic Zone in particular and Van Phong Economic Zone, Khanh Hoa province in particular.

Van Phong International Transit Port Road Project (Phase 2) is a group B project, with construction site in Van Thanh commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province.

In this phase 2 investment scale, Khanh Hoa province will invest completely according to the planning of the remaining section of the Traffic Road outside Van Phong International Transit Port, 2.432 km long, with the same cross-section scale as the invested phase 1, with a 34m wide roadbed (including a road surface of 8.5m x 2 = 17m, a median strip of 10m, a dirt sidewalk of 3.5m x 2 = 7m; complete investment in drainage, lighting, traffic safety and works on the route).

This is a level II traffic project; extra-urban motorway; level III plain; designed speed 80km/h. This project has a total investment of more than 147 billion VND, from the local budget. The project implementation period is from 2024 to 2027.

Regarding implementation progress: Quarter III/2024, approve the project investment policy; Quarter I/2025, approve the Feasibility Study Report; Quarter III/2025, approve the construction drawing design; Quarter IV, carry out site clearance work, start construction; Quarter III/2027, complete construction and put the project into operation and use. In the past time, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has organized 4 times to prepare and complete the project investment proposal report.
