Promoting multilateral cooperation in Austria, contributing to strengthening the special Vietnam-Laos relationship

On July 11, Lao Ambassador to Austria, Head of the Lao Permanent Mission to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna Khampheng Douangthongla met with Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang right after presenting his credentials to the President of the Republic of Austria.

The meeting was attended by a large number of officials and staff from the Embassies of the two countries.

Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang warmly congratulated Ambassador Khampheng Douangthongla on being entrusted with the important responsibility by the Lao Party and State, and said that with his extensive diplomatic experience, the Lao Ambassador will successfully fulfill his role as a bridge and promoter of cooperation between Laos and Austria as well as with the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna. On this occasion, the Vietnamese Ambassador hoped that the embassies of the two countries would continue to promote the tradition of good cooperation, solidarity and effective coordination within the framework of multilateral forums in Vienna, actively contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The Lao Ambassador expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang and the Vietnamese Embassy; affirmed that he will continue to cooperate closely, contributing to maintaining and promoting the roles and voices of the two countries in international organizations and multilateral mechanisms in Vienna.

The two Ambassadors also discussed measures and initiatives to strengthen coordination on issues of common concern to the two countries, especially in the context of complex changes in the regional and international situation, requiring closer cooperation between ASEAN countries at multilateral forums as well as in relations with host countries.

The meeting took place in a warm and sincere atmosphere. Ambassador Khampheng Douangthongla's visit right after completing the necessary procedures to fully perform his role as Ambassador of Laos to Austria continues to affirm the importance of the special, loyal and fraternal relationship between the two countries and peoples.
