Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong inspected the city-level key point of the right dike of Cau Bridge at Km25+850 in Hoa Binh village, Trung Gia commune.

Briefly reporting the situation, Party Secretary and Chairman of Trung Gia Commune People's Council Le Huu Manh said that heavy rains over the past two days have caused flooding in some low-lying areas of the commune, including Hoa Binh village, affecting the daily life and production of the people. This is also the village that had to evacuate some households at the end of September due to heavy rains caused by storm No. 10.

Chairman of Trung Gia Commune People's Committee Nguyen Ba Hoang further reported that immediately after the heavy rain, the Commune Civil Defense Command mobilized militia, police, military units and people to proactively evacuate the assets of households in deeply flooded areas; organized on-duty to ensure traffic safety, ready to handle possible situations according to the "4 on-site" motto.

Through the on-site inspection, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive and responsible spirit of the Party Committee, government and people of Trung Gia commune in quickly responding to natural disasters. "Flood prevention and control is not only an urgent task during stormy days, but should be considered a regular, long-term task, associated with planning and developing new rural infrastructure," Comrade Nguyen Van Phong emphasized.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee requested that Trung Gia commune review the entire dam system, vulnerable dyke areas, and areas at risk of landslides and flooding to have timely response solutions. In particular, the commune needs to focus on ensuring the safety of people's lives and property. In addition, the commune continues to propagate and raise people's awareness to proactively prevent and combat natural disasters, be ready to respond to unusual weather developments, and prevent damage to people and property.
