National Assembly deputies "score" the questioning of ministers

On June 7, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang and Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat answered questions before the National Assembly. This was the first time the two ministers had "taken the stage".

“Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang took the stage for the first time, but his demeanor was mature, he had a firm grasp of the field, and he answered frankly. Although he did not have expertise in transport, with his experience in many positions, the Minister answered the questions raised by the National Assembly deputies. I hope the Minister will be able to remove the current “bottlenecks” and shortcomings in the development of transport infrastructure as well as state management of transport.

For Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, it may have been because it was his first time answering and he was not well prepared, so he was initially not confident and seemed to be nervous before the National Assembly. But then the Minister answered better and better.

*Deputy Nguyen Dai Thang (Hung Yen): Need to clearly see bottlenecks

We are focusing on developing transport infrastructure, building many highways, including removing bottlenecks in site clearance, land, materials, etc. to speed up the disbursement of public investment capital, especially for transport projects. I question and hope that through this questioning, the Minister of Transport will clearly see the bottlenecks and shortcomings in the field and have solutions to remove them. Together with the upcoming laws to be passed, especially the revised Land Law, we will have a synchronous system to strongly develop transport infrastructure, creating conditions for the country to develop.

The Minister also clearly recognized the weaknesses of state management of transportation, including the field of vehicle inspection.

I sympathize with Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat because this is a very large and important field, with many things that are truly a “burden” on the Minister’s shoulders. However, the questions from the National Assembly deputies show our expectations for the field of science and technology, the top national policy. I feel that the Minister answered receptively and went straight to the point.

In particular, I appreciate the very on-point questioning by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.
