Beware of sudden thunderstorms and flash floods

According to the forecast of Lao Cai Province's Hydrometeorological Station, tonight and tomorrow, September 23, due to the influence of the northern edge of the tropical convergence zone connected with storm Ragasa, localities in the province will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally moderate rain, heavy rain, beware of thunderstorms and sudden flash floods.

Thunderstorms are often accompanied by extreme weather phenomena such as hail, tornadoes, strong winds and lightning; flash floods and landslides are likely to occur in many areas. Local people, especially those in mountainous areas, need to be vigilant and proactive in preventing natural disasters that can cause loss of life and property; and be alert to localized heavy rains that can cause flash floods in streams and small streams and the risk of landslides in steep areas.
