The high school graduation exam in English is easy, but why isn't there a 'rain of 10s'?

In general, this year's exam is relatively well differentiated, meeting both the goals of high school graduation and university and college admission.

With this test, average students can easily get 5 points to graduate from high school. Good students can get 7 to 8 points. However, each test has about 3 to 4 difficult questions, so it is predicted that this year there will not be a "rain of 10 points".

Teacher Le Thi Phuong Thoa, head of the foreign language group at Nguyen Huu Huan High School (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), said the test content was close and practical.

The grammar part is closely related to the sample questions, while the vocabulary part requires candidates to have good test-taking skills to achieve maximum score. The test has about 5 differentiating questions, the score range is mostly above average but falls in the range of 6 to 9.

Similarly, teacher Tran Ngoc Huu Phuoc, head of the English group at Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City), also predicted that there would be 10 points, but not many.

This teacher said that the English exam was easy. Most of the knowledge was in the 12th grade English program. However, the exam still had many classified questions. These questions mainly fell into the vocabulary multiple choice and idiom multiple choice sections.

The head of the English group at Bui Thi Xuan High School compared that in the past few years, this year's exam was somewhat easier. Specifically, the difficulty of the Reading section was not as difficult as every year. Although the vocabulary questions were of high application type, students could still use the context to guess. In general, if students just study the 12th grade English program thoroughly, they can easily achieve over 8 points.
