Hydropower plants are mobilized to generate electricity at low capacity, leading to low water flow discharged downstream.

Before the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the company worked with the National Power System Control Center (A0) to ensure water supply for the lower reaches of the Vu Gia River during the holidays, with the forecast of many domestic and foreign tourists coming to Da Nang and Hoi An for sightseeing and tourism .

At the same time, from April 22 to April 26, A Vuong Hydropower Plant will discharge water with a higher average daily flow rate than before to fill the rivers, aiming to reduce the situation of low river water levels during the holidays.

The water level of Yen River at An Trach dam rose to 2.45m at times, 0.45m higher than the spillway threshold of the sluice gates.

On April 27 alone, A Vuong Hydropower Plant operated to discharge water downstream with an average daily flow of ^46.8m3 /s, twice as high as the minimum flow as prescribed ( ^22m3 /s) of the inter-reservoir operation process on the Vu Gia - Thu Bon river basin.

Song Bung 4 Hydropower Plant also discharged water to the downstream of Vu Gia River at more than 47.3m ³ /s, 12.3m ³ /s higher than the minimum level according to regulations (35m ³ /s).

Director of Song Bung Hydropower Company Le Dinh Ban also said that Song Bung 4 Hydropower Plant will discharge water to the downstream of Vu Gia River during holidays at least as much as normal days.

At 3:00 p.m. on April 28, although the salinity on Cam Le River at the raw water intake gate to Cau Do Water Plant was high, the water level upstream of An Trach Dam was maintained at 2.1m, ensuring that the salinity prevention pumping stations operated normally to pump enough raw water for the Cau Do and Airport water plants to produce and supply domestic water for the city.

According to General Director of Da Nang Water Supply Joint Stock Company (Dawaco) Ho Minh Nam, currently, the water source of Cam Le River at the intake of Cau Do Water Plant is often continuously contaminated with salt.

To ensure adequate and continuous water supply this summer, Dawaco has prepared a scenario, prepared a safe water supply plan and operated the An Trach anti-salt pumping station 24/7 to bring raw water to Cau Do Water Plant for production.

In addition, Dawaco has strengthened the monitoring of raw water quality, operated additional water plants and prepared necessary facilities to serve water supply work, especially coordinating with relevant units and localities of Quang Nam province to build Quang Hue dam, to ensure domestic water supply for the city.
