Da Nang launches boarding school project in 6 border communes

According to the plan, Da Nang will build 6 primary and secondary boarding schools in border communes in 2025 with a total investment of more than 1,500 billion VND from the central budget. The total scale of 141 classes with 4,800 students is expected to be completed in 2026.

Of which, the primary and secondary boarding schools in A Vuong, Tay Giang and Hung Son communes have 30 classes/school and 1,000 students/school. The primary and secondary boarding schools in the border communes of Dac Pring, La Dee and La Ee have 17 classes/school and 600 students/school.

The Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Works of Da Nang and the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Quang Nam have coordinated with the People's Committees of the communes where the construction works are to be carried out to review and agree on the location, boundaries, area and scale of the land plot where the school is planned to be built, as a basis for designing the overall layout of the project.

Up to now, for the project of Boarding Primary and Secondary Schools in A Vuong Commune, Tay Giang Commune and Hung Son Commune, the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Works in Da Nang is coordinating with the consulting unit to develop a master plan and design plan, expected to report to the Department of Construction and the Department of Education and Training on October 1, 2025.

For the project of Primary and Secondary Boarding Schools in the land border communes of Dac Pring, La Dee, and La Ee; the Quang Nam Construction Investment Project Management Board is coordinating and inviting qualified consulting units to carry out the related work in advance to prepare feasibility study reports for the 3 projects.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan requested the communes to establish a steering committee for the Project to build boarding schools, primary and secondary schools, with the commune Party Committee Secretary as the head of the steering committee; urgently develop a school construction outline, send it to relevant departments for comments and complete it in October 2025.

On that basis, the relevant departments and branches advise the City People's Committee to take the next steps in accordance with regulations. In particular, the Department of Education and Training quickly re-determines the student population size appropriate to the situation of each school, proposes staffing arrangements and develops operational plans for the schools after they come into operation.
