The working delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development worked with the Provincial People's Committee on the forestry sector.

On June 21, the working delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) led by Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri, Deputy Minister of MARD, had a working session with the Provincial People's Committee on forestry. Mr. Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee received and worked with the delegation.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the total area of forest and land planned for forest development by the end of 2022 in the province is more than 200,392 hectares. During the period of forest management, protection and development (QLBVPTR), relevant agencies, localities and forest owners have developed a coordination plan, effectively implemented forest fire prevention and control activities and hunted down deforestation, raising the forest cover rate of the whole province to 47.11%. The work of reviewing and determining the boundary scope, organizing the planting of markers in the field and planning 3 types of forests has been carried out in a safe manner; the process of converting forest use to other purposes to implement investment projects is in accordance with the procedures and processes prescribed by the Forestry Law. The policy of forest protection contracting has been strengthened and promoted, with a total area of over 70,238 hectares, associated with integrating and implementing models under the forest canopy; contribute to increasing income and improving the lives of people in forested areas.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged the attention and timely direction of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, helping the province effectively implement the management and protection of forests in the past time. He hoped that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development would soon appraise and submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision on the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to other purposes so that the province has a basis for establishing procedures and approval for ecotourism and resort projects, projects to build economic and social infrastructure in the province. Pay attention to supporting funding sources, meeting the requirements of tasks in the management and protection of forests, helping to increase the forest cover rate in the coming years.

Based on the province's report and comments from the members of the working group, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Quoc Tri highly appreciated the province's direction with synchronous solutions, achieving many positive results in forest management and protection. In the coming time, the province is requested to review the entire existing forest area; step up propaganda, improve people's legal understanding in forest management and protection; organize and consolidate the Forest Ranger apparatus to ensure assigned tasks; increase mobilization of socialized resources and forest environmental services, fully implement policies and regimes for those working in forest management and protection at patrol posts and border protection areas. Continue to direct specialized agencies to coordinate in reviewing and integrating national forestry planning and planning of 3 types of forests in the province to ensure consistency and suitability, in order to create favorable conditions for forest management and protection and protection.
