On the diplomatic front, President Ho Chi Minh said that “Real strength is the gong and diplomacy is the sound. The louder the gong, the louder the sound.” Revolutionary press makes that “gong sound” loud, clear and far-reaching.

President Ho Chi Minh was the first Vietnamese to use the press as a sharp and powerful weapon in the struggle for national liberation and nation building. He was the founder of the Vietnamese revolutionary press and a pioneer on this front, raising the fighting flag of the press on the revolutionary stages with the aim of liberating the nation, liberating society, and liberating people.
Following his revolutionary path, the Diplomatic sector made an important contribution to the struggle for independence, unification, maintaining national sovereignty, territorial integrity of the Fatherland, and peace and prosperity for the country.
After nearly 40 years of renovation under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, thanks to the unceasing efforts of the entire Party and people, “Our country has never had the potential, position and international prestige as it does today”. Diplomacy builds bridges, breaks isolation, proactively and actively integrates comprehensively and deeply into the international community; affirms “Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community”.
In that process, foreign information work, in which revolutionary press plays an important role, is actively carried out, bringing information about the Party and State's guidelines and policies along with the image of the country, people and culture of Vietnam - peaceful, friendly and rich in identity, to the world.
Vietnam is facing and will face global challenges: strategic competition between major countries, conflicts leading to global economic decline, climate change and environmental pollution, disease and poverty, non-traditional security issues... This context poses new requirements for foreign affairs. Foreign information through the press needs to continue to be promoted and innovated with new measures, methods and means, improving the effectiveness of serving foreign affairs.
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed: “Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons.” Press information must attract public attention, create public opinion to support good things and oppose bad things. Journalists must be close to the masses, learn from the people to progress, and must honestly reflect social reality as the top criteria in professional ethics. The press actively contributes to promoting social development, participating in the process of planning and perfecting policies.
In modern society, the need to convey information through various forms of journalism is increasingly large and diverse - both in genre and media. Journalists in the field of foreign information are also in that trend and need to practice their professional qualities, both Virtue and Talent following the example of the great journalist Ho Chi Minh and always "zealously love the Fatherland. Whatever is beneficial to the country, must strive to do. Whatever is harmful to the country, must be avoided at all costs".
