Summary of medical cooperation between Hanoi Medical University Hospital and Lao Cai Health Sector, period 2023 - 2025

On the afternoon of October 4, at Trung Tam ward, a conference was held to summarize medical cooperation between Hanoi Medical University Hospital and hospitals in Lao Cai province for the period 2023 - 2025.

Attending the conference were comrades: Nguyen Thanh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Lan Hieu - Director of Hanoi Medical University Hospital; leaders of the Department of Health of Lao Cai province, Bac Kan province, Tuyen Quang province.

Over the past 3 years, with the attention and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and the active and responsible companionship of Hanoi Medical University Hospital, the cooperation program has achieved many important results.

Hanoi Medical University Hospital sent 77 resident doctors and 1 nurse to support regional general hospitals; examined nearly 47,900 outpatients, treated nearly 25,200 inpatients, consulted nearly 3,000 difficult cases, performed 639 surgeries, and nearly 6,100 procedures.

Along with that, 356 training courses and professional activities were organized, attracting more than 5,300 medical staff to participate. 39 medical staff of Lao Cai province received intensive training from 3 to 6 months at Hanoi Medical University Hospital; 84 new techniques were successfully transferred, helping to increase the rate of technical services at regional general hospitals from 28.8% (in 2020) to 49.2% (in 2025).

In particular, many cross-level techniques in emergency resuscitation, surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, etc. have been effectively implemented, contributing to saving the lives of many seriously ill patients and reducing the rate of referrals.

In addition to professional work, Hanoi Medical University Hospital also coordinated to organize voluntary medical examinations for more than 1,300 people in disadvantaged communes in the province. Thereby, detecting and supporting the treatment of many cardiovascular diseases, timely emergency care for many critical cases; doctors also participated in 10 grassroots scientific research topics, making practical contributions to the development of local health care...

Leaders of Muong Khuong Regional General Hospital discussed technology transfer work at the hospital.

At the conference, delegates discussed a number of key issues such as: the effectiveness of staff rotation; the current status of medical examination and treatment; support work in consultation, diagnosis, scientific activities, expert examination, etc.

At the same time, delegates also shared lessons learned and proposed cooperation solutions for the coming period.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Sinh commended the cooperation results between Hanoi Medical University Hospital and Lao Cai health sector in recent times.
