Economic - Defense Group 5 hands over houses to poor households in Muong Lat commune

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On July 23, Economic - Defense Group 5 (Military Region 4) held an inauguration ceremony and handed over a new house to the family of Ms. Lo Thi Dam - a poor household with especially difficult circumstances in Na Kha quarter, Muong Lat commune, Thanh Hoa province.

Local government leaders, staff, and young intellectual volunteers of the Economic-Military Group 5 took souvenir photos with Ms. Lo Thi Dam's family in their new house.

The program is part of a series of activities responding to the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by 2025", according to Plan No. 540/KH-DKT dated September 13, 2024 and Plan No. 397KH-DKT dated May 3, 2025 of Economic-Defense Group 5.

The new house consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 living room; brick wall structure, cold corrugated iron roof, tiled floor, baseboards... completed with the enthusiastic support of the staff, employees, and young intellectual volunteers of Economic-Military Group 5. The members of the group supported construction materials, contributed labor days with a total value of 110 million VND.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Khac Hung, Deputy Political Commissar of Economic-Defense Group 5, delivered a congratulatory speech at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, the representative of the 5th Economic-Defense Group congratulated and encouraged Ms. Lo Thi Dam's family for having a new house to "settle down and make a living", and emphasized that the project was the sentiment of young volunteer cadres and intellectuals for poor households, demonstrating the care of the Party, State, Army as well as the fine, humane tradition of the Vietnamese people.

This is also a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Military Region's armed forces (October 15, 1945 - October 15, 2025).
