Waiting for rain

Decades ago, farming depended heavily on nature, farmers needed rain so they could have the first important factor contributing to the success of the crop. "First water, second fertilizer, third diligence, fourth seeds". People can be proactive in everything, except water, which must be relied on by God. In a drought year, water reserves are depleted, seeing crops wither is heartbreaking. Dredging lakes, dredging wells, digging ponds, trying every way to find water but sometimes it is hopeless. A timely rain is more precious than gold. And not only is it needed for crops, water is also needed for all daily activities. At that time, there was no electricity, no wells, no tap water, villagers mainly used water from dug wells. In years of late rain, most wells dried up, any house with a well with water was the common property of the whole village, everyone shared each bucket of water waiting for the rain to come. Those days seem not so far away, the days of having to carry buckets of water for cooking and bathing have become an unforgettable memory.

The children also have reasons to wait for the rain. On a hot, stuffy day, the cool breezes signaling an upcoming rain are so nice. I remember the days in May, sitting in the classroom looking out and feeling the movement of the earth and sky. The wind got stronger and stronger, the branches of the trees swayed, dry leaves fell down with a rustling sound, the school yard darkened because of the dark clouds that covered the sun. The raindrops slowly fell, pat, pat, pat, and became thicker and thicker until it became a pouring rain. When it rained, the trees and leaves seemed to be bathed, green and fresh. The royal poinciana trees were lush with green branches and bright red flowers. The wind and rain tore the petals off the branches and they fell to the ground, the students could pick the flowers and make pretty butterflies to put on their notebooks, writing on them the silly lines of student writing. The rains that came right at the end of school were also an excuse for the whole group to run in the rain, coming home soaked like drowned rats, just trying to keep their books from getting wet. When it rains, the grass will turn green, promising a fun summer in the fields and hills. The first rains of the season are always exciting for children.

Water for daily life in the city is now almost no longer a concern because there is tap water and well water. Workers have electricity and machines to support irrigation to ensure the survival and development of crops. But the first rains of the season bring water and natural nutrients to the plants are always expected. What is more beautiful than watching the raindrops fall on large orchards, bringing coolness and promising sweet fruit seasons. Rain is always awaited on hot days, not only by farmers but also by all those who love the immense green color of this majestic plateau.

Rain is also the most powerful way to extinguish the risk of forest fires - the green lungs of life. On hot, dry days, it seems that just a small spark falling down is enough to start a big fire, the forests of the Central Highlands are facing a great danger. The first rains of the season cool the weather, bring new life to the forests, help the forests to start a new season of growth and development, bringing the green color of dreams to many people.

Rain can also be a romantic theme for nature lovers. Standing in the window looking out at the white curtain of rain on the sidewalk, on the roof, on the bushes, the heart feels so relieved. The sound of the rain pitter-patter, the crystal clear raindrops are a very evocative image. Even though the time of running around in the rain is past, playing in the rain can also be a pleasure for those who love the rain, who like the feeling of the cool raindrops falling on their bodies.

Raindrops, rains, how lovely and long-awaited!.
