Hanoi FC representative confirmed that midfielder Hendrio officially received Vietnamese citizenship on October 17, with the pure Vietnamese name Do Hoang Hen.

Thus, right in round 7 of LPBank V-League 2025/26 in the match against Ninh Binh at Hang Day Stadium, Hoang Hen can be used by coach Harry Kewell as a domestic player.

For the Vietnamese team, the Brazilian player will have to wait until the return match against Malaysia in March next year, if he is called up by coach Kim Sang Sik. The reason is that he will not be able to live and work in Vietnam for 5 years until December this year according to naturalization regulations.

Although he cannot be called up to the Vietnam national team immediately, Hendrio's naturalization gives coach Kim Sang Sik another very high-quality option for the midfield. If called up, Hoang Hen will reunite with Xuan Son as he did when playing for Nam Dinh Steel Blue.
