Do Hoang Hen (formerly Hendrio Araujo) came to Vietnam to play from the beginning of the 2021 season, playing for Binh Dinh Club. Do Hoang Hen quickly asserted his ability, with a skillful left foot, smooth technique and sharp vision that surpasses the V-League level.

After 2 years of playing, Do Hoang Hen reached the peak of his career in the Nam Dinh Club shirt in the 2023 - 2024 season. He and Nguyen Xuan Son formed an excellent attacking duo, helping the team from Thanh Nam win the V-League for the first time.

Hoang Hen has 12 goals and 13 assists this season, including beautiful and important goals, helping Nam Dinh Club overcome many strong opponents such as Hanoi Club, Hanoi Police Club or The Cong Viettel to reach the throne.

During this time, injuries prevented Do Hoang Hen from playing regularly, but he still played an important role. At the end of the 2024 - 2025 season, he joined Hanoi FC. At the capital team, Hoang Hen was supported to obtain Vietnamese citizenship.

Under what conditions does Do Hoang Hen wear the Vietnamese national team jersey?

At the beginning of this season, the midfielder born in 1994 was not registered to play because he was still a foreign player (Hanoi Club wanted to reserve his place for other foreign players). Currently, Do Hoang Hen has Vietnamese nationality and will play as a foreign player.

With Vietnamese nationality, Do Hoang Hen has the opportunity to join the Vietnamese national team if he meets two conditions: being approved by the World Football Federation (FIFA) as eligible to compete, and being selected by coach Kim Sang-sik.

It is expected that Xuan Son can wear the Vietnamese national team jersey from next year, starting with the reception of Malaysia in the final match of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers (taking place on March 31, 2026).

If Xuan Son recovers and returns, fans can see the Son - Hen duo dominate the national team. In the Asian Cup qualifiers, the Vietnamese team is temporarily ranked second in the group with 9 points after 4 matches (the top team Malaysia has 12 points).
