Folk art troupe contributes to preserving traditional culture

To spread love and raise awareness of preserving traditional culture, Xin Man district, Ha Giang province has promoted the establishment of folk art teams and clubs, attracting the attention and participation of many local people.

As a locality with 16 ethnic groups living together, the work of preserving and promoting the good values ​​of ethnic cultures has always been focused on by Xin Man district. In particular, in addition to bringing traditional culture into teaching at schools; the Association of Folk Artists teaches dancing and singing in small groups in villages, hamlets, clans... the establishment and maintenance of activities of folk art teams and clubs such as: Traditional folk art team of Coc Pai village, Coc Pai town organizes teaching and practicing folk art performances of the Nung ethnic group; Dao ethnic folk art team of Tao Thuong village, Ban Ngo commune teaches and practices traditional folk art performances of the Dao ethnic group; Mong ethnic musical instrument lovers club of Xin Man district... contributes to preserving the traditional culture of ethnic groups in the district with high efficiency.

Attending the meeting of the Dao ethnic folk art troupe in Tao Thuong village, Ban Ngo commune, we clearly felt the joyful and comfortable atmosphere of the members. It is known that the troupe has 25 members, all of whom are Dao ethnic people, living in the village and aged from 15 to 51. Joining the troupe, everyone practices dancing and singing traditional ethnic art tunes together and on a voluntary basis. Vang Thi Nguyet, the youngest member of the troupe, shared: I love dancing and singing. When the troupe was established, I asked my family for permission to join and received support from my relatives. Participating in the troupe, I learned many more traditional songs and dances of the ethnic group, through which I felt love and pride in the beauty of my ethnic culture.

Like the folk art teams, the Mong ethnic cultural musical instrument lovers club in Xin Man district is not only an address for members to preserve and promote the Mong ethnic cultural identity together, but also contributes to promoting musical instruments and Mong ethnic culture to many people inside and outside the province. The club was established in 2021 with 55 members. After more than 3 years of operation, the club currently has 1,128 members and is aged from 8 to 75. Joining the club, members are instructed in practicing blowing, dancing, and using the Mong panpipe. During the practice process, everyone has a serious attitude, clearly showing their love for their ethnic cultural musical instruments.

Mr. Sung Minh Thanh, Head of the Mong ethnic cultural instrument lovers club in Xin Man district, shared: Members join the club on a voluntary basis, all have special feelings for ethnic musical instruments in particular and Mong ethnic culture in general. In the club activities, in addition to practicing Mong flute blowing and dancing skills, members also participate in performances at competitions, performances, and exchanges serving political tasks inside and outside the province. Club members, whether young or old, are highly aware of preserving traditional ethnic culture.

Building folk art teams and clubs is one of the meaningful and practical activities that helps people raise their spirit and responsibility to preserve the cultural values ​​of the nation. From here, it contributes to creating a close connection between the task of economic development and the preservation and development of traditional culture.
