Welcome Nordwind airline bringing Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa after 5 years of suspension

On September 29, the Khanh Hoa Province Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center coordinated with Pegas Misr Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd. and related units to organize a ceremony to welcome the first flight of Nordwind International Airlines (under Pegas Touristik Group) bringing tourists direct flights from Russia to Cam Ranh after more than 5 years of suspension of operations.

Attending the welcoming ceremony were Mr. Timur Sirozevich Sadykov - Consul General of Russia in Ho Chi Minh City; Comrade Nguyen Long Bien - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Abdullah Cankaya - Vice Chairman of Pegas Touristik Asia and Pacific ; leaders of a number of departments, branches and units in the province.

The first flight of Nordwind Airlines from Moscow to Cam Ranh landed at 12:00 on September 29, with 379 passengers. The welcoming ceremony was solemnly held with a water cannon ceremony. At Cam Ranh International Terminal, delegates presented gifts to the first 20 passengers, flight crew members and performed welcome music... Through the event, the provincial tourism industry sent to international visitors the message that Khanh Hoa is always a friendly and hospitable destination and hopes that visitors will prioritize choosing Khanh Hoa as a tourist destination to experience in the coming time. In addition, the event created a connection between agencies, airlines, and tourism businesses in the province, aiming to make Khanh Hoa tourism one of the top destinations on the Southeast Asian tourism map, contributing to realizing the goal of Resolution No. 01 of the Provincial Party Committee on double-digit economic growth in the period 2025 - 2030.

According to Ms. Hoang Thi Phong Thu - Chairwoman of the Board of Members of Pegas Misr Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd., the demand for vacations of Russian tourists to Vietnam is very large. From now until the end of October 2025, the company will coordinate with Nordwind to organize from 18 to 22 flights/month from the cities of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Vladivostok, Ekaterinburg, Khabarovsk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, bringing about 6,800 guests/month to Khanh Hoa. After that, the number of flights may increase when entering the peak winter vacation season of Russian tourists. Tourists coming to Khanh Hoa will stay from 10 to 12 days (some guests stay up to 28 days) at 4-5 star hotels and resorts in the province; participate in tours to visit relics, scenic spots, islands; explore Khanh Hoa cuisine...

Pegas Misr Vietnam Travel Company Limited staff give gifts to Russian tourists.

Before Nordwind, airlines such as Azur Air, Aeroflot, Ikar Airlines, IrAero Airlines, Red Wings of Russia and Vietjet Air of Vietnam have resumed flights from Russia to Cam Ranh. Up to now, there are more than 30 flights/week from major cities of Russia to Khanh Hoa.

Talking to reporters of Khanh Hoa Newspaper, Radio and Television, Mr. Cung Quynh Anh - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism shared: Russian tourists are a very important international tourist market for Khanh Hoa tourism. The fact that airlines are bringing Russian tourists back to Cam Ranh after a 5-year hiatus is a positive signal. The tourism industry has stepped up promotion, renewed tourism products, and strengthened human resource training to serve Russian tourists. In the first 8 months of 2025, Khanh Hoa welcomed 279,000 Russian tourists, an increase of 294.9% over the same period in 2024. It is expected that from now until the end of the year, the number of Russian tourists will reach, even surpass the mark of 2019.
