Urging progress of the 500kV Hai Phong - Thai Binh transmission line project

(Chinhphu.vn) - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) Nguyen Tuan Tung and the working delegation have just inspected the progress and urged the construction of the 500kV Hai Phong - Thai Binh transmission line project, the section passing through Hung Yen province.

This project was started on August 17, 2025. This is a special energy project, invested by EVNNPT. The Northern Power Project Management Board (NPMB) is assigned to manage and operate the project, and Power Transmission Company 1 takes over the operation.

The 500kV Hai Phong - Thai Binh transmission line project is invested and built in the communes of An Quang, An Khanh, Quyet Thang, Lac Phuong, Nguyen Giap, Vinh Thinh (Hai Phong city); the communes of A Sao, Vinh Hoa, Minh Tho, Quynh Phu, Quynh An, Nguyen Du, Than Khe (Hung Yen province).

The project has a scale of building 2 new 500kV lines, the total length of the line is 38.3 km. The starting point is the 500kV busbar of Hai Phong 500kV substation, the ending point is the 500kV busbar of Thai Binh 500kV substation.

Of which, the section through Hai Phong city is 20.4 km long with 52 foundation positions and 22 corridor anchorages; the section through Hung Yen province is 17.9 km long, with 47 column positions and 15 corridor anchorages.

Reporting at the meeting, the representative of the Northern Power Project Management Board said: NPMB is continuing to work with the People's Committees of the communes of Hung Yen province and Hai Phong city to speed up and implement the next steps. Regarding progress, the project is constructing 20/27 foundation positions that have been handed over. NPMB is urging and controlling the detailed progress schedule for each package to ensure the project's progress.

During the implementation process, the project encountered some difficulties and problems in compensation for site clearance, land encroachment on planned land, and commune authorities proposed to adjust to avoid the route corridor... NPMB is continuing to work and urge relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities to unify the route approved by the Provincial People's Committee; at the same time, coordinate with localities to the maximum to resolve so as not to affect the project's progress.

At the site inspection, EVNNPT Board of Directors Chairman Nguyen Tuan Tung acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of NPMB and the project participants who actively deployed to have the site ready for construction.

This is an important project to meet the goal of transmitting full and reliable power to the 500kV Hai Phong substation with a voltage level of 500kV. Meeting the load demand of Hai Phong city, Hung Yen province and neighboring areas in the coming period according to the N-1 criteria. Improving voltage quality, reducing technical losses and strengthening the connection and flexible operation of the 500kV transmission grid in the Northern region.

The Chairman of EVNNPT Board of Directors requested the units to promote the spirit of 500kV line 3 "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain" to speed up the construction progress. During the construction process, strictly follow the technical, standard procedures; well manage the work of occupational safety and hygiene, environment; ensure the quality of construction works.

Require construction units and supervision consultants to strengthen and mobilize forces, closely coordinate with project management units and related units to ensure quality and progress, and strive to complete power connection in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister. NPMB closely coordinates with contractors to propagate and mobilize households to agree with the project in implementing compensation and site clearance.

The representative of the construction unit pledged to mobilize maximum resources to speed up the project's progress, and at the same time hoped that during the implementation process, the project would receive close coordination from the investor in working with local authorities on site clearance compensation.

Along with that, there is a smooth coordination in providing materials and equipment for the construction unit to organize reasonable construction measures to meet the progress requirements set by the investor.
