Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee: Visiting the TBR39 rice production linkage model

On the morning of October 20, Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited the model of linking production of high-quality pure rice variety TBR39 in Dong Quy commune (Tien Hai). Accompanying him were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In the 2023 crop season, ThaiBinh Seed cooperated with Dong Quy Commune Agricultural Service Cooperative to implement a TBR39 rice production linkage model with product consumption on an area of 50 hectares. Through monitoring and evaluation, the TBR39 rice variety showed outstanding characteristics such as: strong tillering ability, good resistance to pests and diseases, especially bacterial leaf blight, good lodging resistance; high yield potential. By October 19, the Cooperative and the company had organized the harvest of 17 hectares and purchased 102 tons of fresh rice, with an average yield of 58.3 quintals/ha. According to calculations, each hectare of TBR39 rice cultivation brings in about 7 million VND more profit than the traditional Bac Thom 7 variety in the locality.

After listening to the report on the results of TBR39 rice production of the Cooperative, visiting and evaluating the productivity directly on the field, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the efforts of ThaiBinh Seed in researching and selecting new plant varieties; organizing production linkages to bring high economic efficiency to farmers. The initial success of the model is significant in the strategy of building the province's rice brand.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that ThaiBinh Seed will continue to actively coordinate with state agencies to expand the model in the next production seasons to successfully build the Thai Binh rice brand. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will preside over and advise the Provincial People's Committee on mechanisms and policies to create favorable conditions for businesses and guide localities to form and develop effective and sustainable production chains. Tien Hai District and Dong Quy Commune will do a good job of propagating to the people to build a sustainable chain to create large-scale raw material areas with stable volumes to serve the building of the rice brand.
